And Mordecai's painting skill was also shown to improve over time, just look at the garage prank at the beginning of Garage Door where he was able to draw an open garage on the garage door.
I found the clip
edit:I decided to buy the episode through amazon, whoever ordered their episodes needs a slap as finding it was a pain

New theme music also a boxWas thinking of some potential spinoffs. Carter and Briggs could be a fun spinoff, and if you want to get more into the mythos of RS, maybe a prequel series focusing on Skips after High School but before the events of RS (considering he was around for lots of historical events, you've got tons of potential there).
Pops spin off set in Lollyland!
New theme music also a boxAs long as you get something that feels Close Enough to the tone and humor, it doesnt matter where you focus.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireClose Enough basically is Regular Show, from what I can gather they began working on it soon as Regular show ended

New theme music also a boxSo I got bored and decided to rewatch the show from the beginning on HBO Max. Just to see how well it holds up and all.
I'm already in the middle of Season 2 and I'm actually enjoying how fun the vibe is in these early episodes. The later ones tried building bigger plots and stuff, but the early episodes where it's relatively chill and episode plots are mostly Mordecai and Rigby getting up to dumb shit. Each episode feels super distinct too. I barely remember individual episodes from the later seasons, but these early episodes feel as distinct as early Sponge Bob.
It started off really good, but after season 3 or 4 I felt it lost its quality.

She/they. Hirrus Clutumnus is my comfort characterIt did...not.
It wavered, mostly due to relationship stuff...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I wanna say roughly from Season 4-5 or so is when that decline sets in, with some upticks here and there. I just remember a lot of episodes from that time and after becoming a bit of a blur. Like, I remember some good stuff. I remembered liking Rigby's development where he finally starts to grow up a bit, which was especially nice since his character in the early episodes could be a bit *too* selfish and whiny sometimes. I remember a lot of the crap with Mordecai's relationship drama, but for all the wrong reasons (it was dragged out, tedious, and tonally clashing with everything else).
And then there's everything else, where it feels like they ran out of ideas. There's only so much "Mordecai and Rigby get up to something and then crazy stuff happens" plots before it feels like they're just spinning the wheels. Probably doesn't help that some of the episodes I *do* remember from the later seasons were just sequels to better episodes. Then the whole season where they go to space is just...boring (except the finale). I also remember way more of Muscle Man in the later episodes, which isn't really the case in the early ones. I was actually surprised on rewatch to see that Muscle Man doesn't really show up that much in Season 1.

He did get fired.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. It's kind of weird that they stopped doing much with Skips after Season 5. It seemed like his whole arc was building up to something epic, but instead, Pops ended up becoming the most important character.
I think Skips being voiced by Mark Hamill played a factor in that.
True, probably the same reason that they didnt do anything outside of cameos with CJ (Linda Cardelini) after the breakup (ironically, both were working on Disney properties). Still, it is appropriate that Pops became the focal point of the final season since he was the first character created (he predates 2 in the AM PM).

Going to bring this topic back to life!
I mean the puppet is right,he can't hold on to a relationship but nether can Benson
New theme music also a boxDigging this thread back up. Does anyone think Pops may be Asexual/Aromantic? I mean, he's never been romantically linked with any character and has never really shown interest in pursuing relationships, in contrast to all the other characters who have (or had in the case of Skips) significant others.
Painting requires a knowledge of color theory, and you have to be able to manipulate a whole host of tools properly, and you have to manage prep and clean-up time, but otherwise, depending on what kind of painting you want to do, it's not that different from drawing.
