Eh. It wasn't more contrived than what's usual in this series. Which means it was still way above anything else.
In other news, oh, Lala. I almost forgot she existed.
Check out my fanfiction!Huh. I actually liked the fanservice this time... Namely for how ridiculous it was (and somehow cycling right around from inane all the way to funny. Like fanservice Narm or something.)
Mmm. They hit a sweet spot where it's so over-the-top it manages to actually work.
New chapter.
Rito's Ecchi Zone in top condition as usual.
I've always liked Rin, so it will be nice seeing her as demonically-possessed swordsman.
This actually seems like it could be interesting.
Check out my fanfiction! You gotta how at the beginning of the newest chapter Zastin was subtly building up the next Macguffin of the series.
New chapter.
Rito was pretty badass this chapter!
I can completely relate to the "battle dress" feeling. And the headband isn't a bad comparison, for that matter. If you're in a sport, you usually practice with some comfortable but not necessarily visually appealing. Then for a competition/match, you put on your uniform, and you just feel all that better at it.
Good at dodging... Reminds me of Yamato. He's also a non-fighter among fighters who's good at dodging, just because one of them frequently attacks him, though in her case it's more good-natured.
Check out my fanfiction!Or Kitano in Angel Densetstu and Keitaro of Love Hina. It's a "logical" moveset for complet pacifist character who are regularly being hit.
Someone other than the usual scanlator has put up 32.5.
Ugh. Why do they keep pushing fanservice with this character?
I hope that panel with Momo at the end was just a throwaway gag and not any sort of foreshadowing.
I forget; is your issue with it that she's too young, his sister, both, or something else?
Both, and how she worked better when she remained an observer calmly above it all. Now she feels too... pandering to that sector of fandom.
Long time no see Lala. Rito should really be used to the ecchi stuff already.
Momo is sick.
This did spark an idea for an ecchi manga. Hmm. Might be an interesting writing exercise.
This show relies way too much on Genre Blindness, and if a character turns out to be Genre Savvy, like Yui or Mikan, Death by Genre Savviness. Without the death and with the fanservice. It's pretty much a no-win situation. Except maybe for Lala.
Check out my fanfiction!Chapter 33 is up. Looks like chapter 34 will focus on Lala.

Momo's reaction at the end was great. Same with Saki.
I like the implication that Mea was actually Nemesis. Interesting.
A lala chapter would be nice. It's been....a while. Hopefully it actually focuses on her, rather than just some invention going crazy.

Rin becoming part of the harem should mean more screentime for her, so yey.
The new chapter's up.
Yup, it's a Lala chapter.
This wasn't too bad. It's doing more with the subplot premise than I expected.
Let's see if Rito will actually man up.
Of course, even if he does, the plot will either just advance another microscopic step, or the step will be all but ignored later on.
I'm this close to dropping the series. I just skim through it nowadays. Darkness started well, regaining the pace the original had lost after wallowing so much turning around in the same place, but now it feels like the actual development is just being replaced by another unending swamp of teasing, just far more graphical this time around.
Batoto and the scanlator's site had it ~1 hour before I posted.
