Greetings. This is the thread for requesting assistance with recovering a TV Tropes account for which you have forgotten the password.
Before posting here, please note that Get Known has a comprehensive set of instructions for managing your account. To summarize, password resets are limited as follows:
- If you have an associated email address, use the Lost Password link on the login screen to request a reset email. If that doesn't work, post here.
- If you do not have an associated email address but you are still logged in, you can register an email address and use it for recovering your password.
- If you do not have an associated email address, and have not used your previous account since September 18, 2013, we cannot verify your ownership for technical reasons.
- To verify ownership without an email address, and if you have used your previous account recently, you should be logged in on the same computer and/or Internet connection that you most recently edited or posted from.
- It is not currently possible for moderators to reset your password or change your registered email address. As a last resort, you may use our contact form
to send a message to "The Staff".

I altered my name somewhat, but I'd like my old name of vashfanatic back. Also, it's mildly insane that in order to get my password changed I had to create a new account. I know, blocking spam and all that, but man. This upgrade has been a pain.

The posts I sent mostly wouldn't be registered, instead I would be shown my last post in the thread that did register. But edits did register.
There is nothing about a handle or password that would cause that to happen.

Hello; this is the former Exploding Frogs. I remember my password, but bizarrely enough, the wiki isn't accepting it; when I try to edit, the wiki tells me it can't confirm my login information, or something like that. When I deleted my cookie and tried to bake a new one, it told me that it "couldn't log me in with that combination." Help, please?
(Also, if you fix this issue, please delete "The Troper Formerly Known As Exploding Frogs", which was my first attempt at a sockpuppet with which to bring this problem to the attention of the mods. Frustratingly, it met the same fate as my original handle.)
