This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Do you perceive this matter the same way, when looked in the context of other warnings you have received?
I've learned certain topics just need to be dropped absolutely. The Electoral College is a stupid hill to have died on and I'm grateful that you did point out my flaws there. I am glad you reminded me that we mostly agree 90% of our politics here and that I should drop it.
But I felt pretty bullied there. I should point out in those pages that I was called [without hyperbole] stupid, morally indefensible, a lunatic, and they even used a link to "The Reason You Suck" Speech when talking about me.
I did not return any of those insults and wonder if it was noted how hostile the treatment of me was. I feel a bit singled out when I didn't see anyone else given warnings for personal attacks and I didn't make any.

One lesson I did learn and wish I had learned sooner is just not to participate in any discussion beyond one page.
And I accept any judgement made.
No one benefits from them and it's stupid to continue. :( I should have realized that earlier.

nombretomado, yeah, I just observed. Did want to ask a question involving the reason for my suspension (since it was due to a "localisation"), but I decided against it in fear of stirring up trouble. I'd rather not push my luck, even if it's okay.

I understand not wanting to push it (a question about suspension directly would probably not be OK, while something as an explainer might just be context-setting - like "I was suspended for [x], and have a question about how to avoid [x] in the future given [z]"), but I truly do think it can be of benefit to you. ~CharlesPhipps, while I can only speak for myself, I know I opted to issue a broad warning to the thread as a whole because it was essentially 80% of the thread who needed to back down to various degrees.
As for you particularly, I wish it hadn't been this topic specifically, because it is extraordinarily sensitive, but it did demonstrate lack of judgment on your part that we had warned you on before, enough that I (because it was me who pulled the suspension trigger) felt that you had walked past the line we had drawn for you many times before.
I'd like to let this one sit for a bit, because I think there's going to be additional discussion about that whole conversation.
I hope you'll eventually remove my suspension but you are correct I have been warned before and I made a mistake. I should have left the conversation much earlier. I hope you do take my apology as sincere.

~CharlesPhipps, in discussing this with the other mods, and we agree on a few things. Firstly is that your suspension was appropriate. Secondly, however, is that the circumstances around it were terribly messy, and we're not pleased with how that conversation went for many parties who did not behave appropriately towards you either, regardless of the merits of your own behavior.
For that reason, we think it would be best for you to have 1-month hiatus from OTC. You can come back after a month has passed, and we can talk about anything else before we go through on a suspension release. Agreed?

As I'm just noticing this post/response now, I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. But first of all, I wasn't aware of the Luminescent Blush trope. Second of all, if that's really what the problem has been all along, then I'm not the only one who has been putting examples of human characters changing colors facially or bodily on the Through A Face Fullof Fur page. Other users have been doing it too. I don't know if you or somebody else mentioned the same thing to any, other users, but if not, why am I being singled out for this? All the human examples on Through A Face Fullof Fur should be moved to Luminescent Blush then, if that's the case. But from now on, I'll try to keep this in mind. I apologize for that too. I'm going to copy and paste this post in the section of the forum where I'm supposed to post. I'm even offering to move all the human examples to Luminescent Blush myself.

"Grievances" is not typically how I would categorize telling people to "fuck off".
Releasing your suspension is contingent on you immediately removing this material from your troper page and an agreement to behave civilly in public spaces, even when it comes to people and decisions you don't like.

I was suspended from the US Politics thread and think that is unfair. In this case, I did my very best not to be impolite and not to put down people's posts. I said it was a matter of personal conscience not to do a certain thing [vote for Biden while otherwise voting Democrat] but that I understood people who believed it was valid otherwise. I repeatedly did my best to de-escalate things and not try to make it personal. I also tried to answer everyone's post regarding the subject.
There were no insults flung from my part or hostility while other people were very hostile to me (due to the fear many people rightfully have of a Trump Presidency).
