I mean for me it's more about none of the actual cool lady musicians of history being in the film, rather than plausibility or whatever.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.

I think Grom's meant to stand in for whoever invented the concept of music in the first place.
This song is supposed to play across all time, after all.
