I know it's a pain, but there IS a Red Dead Redemption 2 thread.

Yeah, I'm replaying it now!

It starts with the best characterization of Marston's family, but I realized too late that of course they were only making us love his family life so they could tear his family away from him again.
Fresh-eyed movie blogYeah... the opening made me want to throw my console at the TV screen.
After playing RDR 2 on PC, I am now playing part 1 on the PC via the PSN.
It.....sure will take some time to get used to the gameplay I guess. Much, much more arcady than Part 1. And, well, it is 10 years old, so I guess I cannot fault it for it's dated optics.
Bet I'll still have fun playing it once I get behind it.

For the 10th anniversary, here's a Zero Punctuation review of the game. Note that he left out spoilers and made a strategic pun so as to avoid narrating the true ending of the game in which John makes a heroic sacrifice.
I just finished this game.
I gotta say, I like part 2 in almost every way better. That's not to say that part 1 is bad, it was a hell of a lot of fun, but the story really leaves something to be desired.
I mean save for the ending, there aren't really any kind of twists and turns, unlike in part 2. Bill and Javier are almost non-entities, they could've really used some more screentime. Dutch is only slightly better.
Still, I enjoyed John as the protagonist. Not as much as Arthur, but I'm glad I played this game and I really hope this great franchise gets another installment.

I always wondered why the Colonel betrayed John.
I mean, yes, For the Evulz, but you had to wonder why Williams and Javier were so important.
