Eh, I can see what you mean by saying they're uncanny valley-ish, but I've never really minded that type of thing before, and I think they're kinda cute.
Don't actually have a fursuit myself, though — they're ridiculously expensive, from what I've seen.
Lots of suiters are hobbyists, so it's something they do for fun. They're really really complicated, since you need to design it to be comfortable to wear and move around in all day.

Really never seen a visual novel type thing involving fuzzies that wasn't a parody/cheesy/had decent art before they came up with theirs. The designs are a little bizarre for some of the characters but it's definitely something to check out if you're curious.

It seems like I'm continuing my Livejournal habit of only posting when people die.
In this case, it's Doug Winger. He had been in ICU with machines doing his breathing for him for a while now thanks to medical conditions caused by his smoking habit, and as of the morning of the 23rd he was taken off the machines, passing away later that day.
Wonder if he's in the afterlife now drawing the whamadoodle that cockslapped the universe, just to get a reaction out of God...
I'm not a fan of fursuits, they fall into the Uncanny Valley for me
