Also from PAX:
The XVI crossover event will run from April 8th to May 3rd.
Also you can get an Ark mount with the Dawntrail collector’s edition. As well as Zidane and Garnet Wind-up minions.
Yoshi-p also said there’s a reason for all the FF 9 references but it’s a secret.

GOH! JII! RAH!Calling it right now that Necron is the final boss of the DT story
Heart of StoneHopefully he gets actual story presence this time.
So, let's hang an anchor from the sun... also my TumblrAlso other important details from Pax
-Both in combat and lifestyle content, Dawntrail will be significantly more focused on the massive multiplayer part of MMORPG. However, this doesn't mean they are going to ignore small-scale content, but will instead be developed in parallel.
-Yoshida acknowledged that the boss hitboxes became way too huge in Endwalker, will likely be scaled down from Dawntrail onwards
-He also stated that he wants combat encounters to feel more creative and unique, since he said he himself is starting to get bored with how some of the fights and mechanics are handled. He specified this won't mean that the game will get harder, just less 'mundane' in his words.
-He also said that Dawntrail will increase the amount of rewards, which include mounts and gear. According to him, by 7.3 there will be 1.5x more rewards in Dawntrail than in any other expansion in the game. Yoshida said this was both due to how wide the amount of content of the game has become compared to before, as well as feeling he needed to repay the players for sticking around the game for this long.
-He also said that they're starting to consider what to do with Job levelling and progression from 8.0 and onwards.

Yoshi-P also said he was going to release Dawntrail earlier but then realized that Elden Ring's DLC was going to be released at about the same time, so he delayed it.
Not just because everyone was going to play Elden Ring. But because he wanted to play Elden Ring too.
Understandable.
This is the same man who had TOTK day one.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. And who told people to stop watching the super anticipated live letter discussing Endwalker's features to tell people to read the latest Wham Episode of One Piece before the internet spoiled it.
The man's not just a gamer, he's a total nerd, and I feel like we're the better for it.

I was hoping for a sign that they would go back to fix earlier content, make it more streamlined.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. They did.
Early content WAS FAR LESS streamlined than you have now. You didn't even have to deal with the post ARR pre HW slog.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Ah, good ol' Company of Heroes questline - Original Flavor.
i. hear. a. sound. It could be streamlined a lot more, a good chunk of the main quest could be taken out, the end should be reworked to make the cutscenes skippable, and the beast tribes could be less grindy. And Squeenix should do that, the longer it takes to get to the new content the more it's going to scare off newbies.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. The beast tribes are optional, and designed to be grindy.
Honestly, the worst part is assembling the crystal braves, to me, it just is such a *nothing* series of events, you wander around the capital cities for an hour and have to struggle to not lose interest in these bit NP Cs you can't give a shit about.
The beast tribes were intended to give people something to do after hitting level cap back for ARR. It's kind of annoying that they now give basically no rewards (the crafter tribe added for Shadowbringers gives a measly 1000 EXP per quest even at level 80), but it's not like there's a ton of OTHER stuff to do that isn't either spamming dungeons or so on.
It's been fun.I still love Wilred so much. That poor guy figuring out The Conspiracy because of bookkeeping. It's such a mundane, realistic thing and endears me to the whole post-ARR slog.
i. hear. a. sound.
The quests give tens or hundreds of thousands of EXP up until the level cap of the expansion they're introduced in. The most recent quests give a million each. Then it gets downgraded to 1,000 past said cap.
Otherwise, leveling crafters and gatherers would be even more effortless than it already is.

I'd love if they went back and revamped a bunch of the optional level 50 dungeons tbh. Consistently some of the worst instances in the game due to their boss design, and you always risk getting them in endgame dungeons roulette.
Amdapoor Diabolos by beloathed.
Frankly I'm fine with the unskippable cutscenes to ensure sprouts can enjoy the story without them missing the actual content to speedrunners. The reworked finale is still relatively fast considering it gives very good roulette rewards, and the Ultima Weapon trial is now pretty engaging for an ARR fight.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Honestly the worst part of some 50 dungeons is that a lot of classes just flat out aren't complete at level 50.
Bard doesn't even have its third song at 50.
Exactly. Make the scenes skippable and the only thing that will happen is you'll go back to the days where the newbies couldn't actually see the story for grinders skipping everything and powering thru as fast as possible.
I'll gladly wait rather than go back to that. Hell, starting up a Statler and Waldorf routine during Nero's "notice me senpai" speech or Gaius' "teenage edgelord discovers a philosophy 101 text" diatribe is half the fun.
Honestly I almost (keyword "almost") miss the longer versions of the MSQ roulette because people don't have nearly as many opportunities to shitpost in chat as they used to. A bunch of my friend group's running jokes spawned from us entertaining ourselves during those old Castrum and Praet runs.

How very?
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaI'm actually fine with the Diabolos fight. Teach people to not sleepwalk through the game.
I have mentioned this before I think, but the peak dungeon boss right now is (IMO) the Magus Sisters.
Heart of StoneConsidering I've gotten bodied by Diabolos despite knowing what to do and trying to explain it to people before: fuck that shit lol. Especially since the game can and will decide to make you fail the door mech even if you do it correctly.

The Magitek hexadron in Doma Castle is inspired by either one of the Shinra tower elevator bosses, or the one that chases you at tne end of the motorcycle segment, and both it and the scorpion are reused as trash or FATE mobs in Bozja. Plus all weapons obviously.
