Didn't you make it to the boss room? If you did, you can just warp straight there from the entrance.

No. I decided I had doubts I could get to the boss before I ran out of time.

Anyway, My second run went good. The second day just started, and I'm back where I was before.

I even know where the boss is, even though I purposely didn't get the key (I'll come back for it when I figure out how to get the last few stray fairies, as I'm back up to 13).

I'm trying to fully recall how to move that pillar too. I may just have to look it up, but I'll keep trying. I want to at least pretend that I'm going to figure it out on my own before I just surf the net.

I haven't played Majora's Mask in forever.

So far I've cleared the Spirit Temple, Shadow Temple and the Gerudo Training Grounds just because I've never done it before Master Quest or not. It took quite a while and decided to look up what I was missing for the Training Grounds since it was optional only to learn there was a switch mostly embedded in a sign that doesn't react to the hookshot but does react to arrows for some reason. Game's been pulling cheap stuff like that for awhile so I'm happy I was able to figure out the rest of the temples on my own.

Ganon's Castle is taking awhile due to high damage from falling, and running out of magic. I guess I could get the double damage fairy but I can't decide. I just need magic for the Shadow Temple part.

Right. I'm one fairy away from getting them all in Snow-head, and then I fight Goht.

The problem is, it's in a secluded corner in the main room of the temple. You know, it's hidden behind a wall you can only find with the Lens of Truth and you have to jump to reach it.

I'm told that in the 3DS version, you have to apparently use the Bunny Hood to be able to make that jump (whereas in the original N64 version, you could just to it as Goron Link). There's apparently another way that involves using a Deku Flower...only there's only one Deku Flower in that area, and that's the one that's right in front of the hidden spot.

I really don't want to finish the temple and come back later; I'd rather get it all done in one go and be done with it (beyond having to beat Goht again so I have enough time to get the gold dust), so it anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

Unless it was changed in the 3DS version, you can get the same distance from a jump as the Bunny Hood if you roll off the edge. That being said, why do you not already have the Bunny Hood? It's the best mask in the game without question.

I went straight to Snow-head and didn't check out Romani Ranch on the third day.

I did the same in the original game. How was I to know I'd need the hood?

I did try rolling off the edge (as both Link and Goron Link) and both failed, but I'll try again. Maybe I didn't do it at the right time.

No, it's pretty easy. As normal Link, you just make sure you're in mid roll as you go off the edge. However, they might have patched that out of the 3DS version.

Also, even if you don't immediately need it for anything, why wouldn't you get the Bunny Hood as soon as possible in a normal run?

I honestly just never thought of getting it.

I figured since I'd have to wait until the third day (until after I was done with Snow-Head to go there, it'd be better to just wait.

Well, if I can't figure out methods to get the last Fairy without the hood, I'll just head there and get it.

Double Post:

Alright. Turns out I wasn't jumping from high enough. Got the last Fairy, beat Goht, but as it was the last day anyway, I didn't go for the Gold dust to make the Gilded Sword (so I didn't do the Goron Races yet).

I restarted and will do all that again on my next run (since it takes at least three days to make that sword anyway. After that, I'll take care of all the stuff with Romani Ranch, then head to the Ocean.

By the way, I understand you can now find the dude with the Stone Mask in the Pirate's Fortress instead of Ikana (so you don't have to take an early journey to the latter anymore).

Is getting the mask harder than it used to be (do you still need to have a Red potion to heal him)?

Triple Post. Ok. Going for the Gold Dust...what the hell?

I keep getting knocked around by the other Gorons and coming in in second and third place and shit like that! Was this race always this hard?

Am I forgetting some kind of trick? I'm hitting the green pots to keep up my magic (or at least trying to, but the other dudes are constantly in my face, making it tough.

You play Mario Kart, right? Play the Goron Race like you play Mario Kart.

Unless you're not good at Mario Kart. If you aren't, then, well....

Yeah, I've played old school Mario Kart. And I have 8 for Wii U (my Wii U is back by the way! Yaaay!).

Still never felt this tough, but I'll remember you're advice.

Edit: I did it. I just moved back a bit and gave myself a head start on reaching the top speed. I remembered to hug the corners as well).

Got the Gilded Sword, so the next order of business is Romani Ranch.

Good times in the Goron Races.

Especially when you get the dust, but mess up and do it on too late a day.

Then you get it, but miss the cut off time by 30 seconds.

Good times.

Is getting the mask harder than it used to be (do you still need to have a Red potion to heal him)?

It's harder by virtue of the changed location, since you have to sneak around the pirates to get to him rather than just approach him on the side of the road. You do still need to give him a Red/Blue potion to get the mask, but you should be going into the Fortress with plenty of bottles anyway to get all those fish eggs, so it's something you can do while completing that objective.

Alright. I've done everything on Romani Ranch...oh, except race the Gorman bros. I guess that'll come later.

I might try that one and then finally head to great bay.

Double post for a random question:

With the Honey and Darling Game in Majora's Mask, do you have to play the games on each day in the same cycle, or does it still count if you start fresh and play a new one on a different day?

Pretty sure it has to be done in one cycle like all of the other games of its kind. Just pick a cycle and dedicate it to all of those minigames. Use Song of Double Time as needed.

I can confirm that's true.

You can also try to couple it with other stuff, but Zel's idea is probably better.

Whenever I try to do that I always mess up.

So I'm also back on Twilight Princess Wii U, which I'd been slacking off on.

Currently in the Snow-Head Mansion, and got the wrecking ball. Trying to get past one of those big ice breathing enemies on a incline.

You grab one of those iron balls and take it up the slope, but you have to get past the ice dude, only you can't jump while holding the ball, and you can't reach the guy to kill him...

I'm not describing the spot well. I hope everyone gets what part I'm talking about. I can't even figure out how I did it before.

Is it the room where the Freezards are in cages? They move their ice breath back and forth, you just have to hit them with the ball and chain while they're facing away from you.

....You can do that? I thought the cage protected them completely? That must mean there's a hole that I missed.

Wow, thanks. I must have looked that up before, because I never would have realized since I'd have been more focused on getting past them than destroying them.

Finished the Mansion. Man, it was pretty easy. For some reason, I thought this one would give me trouble. I've really forgotten what some of the bosses in this game were like.

Triple Post:

Doing the cuckoo game in Twilight Princess. I keep missing the platform with the highest highest on it (it doesn't help that it moves) Fortunately, I got enough cash to keep trying as much as I want.

For someone trying to remember how it works, anyone got any tips for me?
