Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

Here's some vague discussion about it including people saying it's 240 pages long. http://67.227.255.239/forum/showthread.php?t=741166&page=15
Ech. Square has finally launch into the Compilation of FFX. FFX move incoming.

Well I can't read the book myself, but the second-hand info I'm getting is
There's a lot of comments about how much they feel bad for Tidus, and that Yuna acts really cold towards him. There's a few saying they hate Yuna in the novel. There's apparently a lot of sexual stuff in it. There's a scan of one page in which Tidus tells Yuna if they get into battle he might lose his fighting spirit because he's distracted by how sexy she is. And apparently Tidus gets his head blown off by a bomb and dies (and only 2 days after getting resurrected), but he comes back to life again because he's made of Pyreflies, and Yuna has control over him.

This coming from the Scenario Writer of FFVII,VIII etc? THIS honestly sounds like fanfiction.

Oh, oh, Kuro! Her Japanese is better than mine. Have you heard anything from the Japanese community? I was really surprised to read a review saying "I wish this thing was never written".
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI was reading the Amazon reviews and 2chan thread on it. The reaction is pretty negative. Several people saying it stupid and too dark, and a few saying things like "it should have just ended at X."
Yeah, I read the same thing on Amazon. I think every single reviewer kept saying the story is very dark and this is completely unexpected after the Eternal Calm.
You have a link to that scan?
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerThat honestly sounds hilarious.
The novella in general however... hm. The audio drama showed some potential, despite Yuna's third, actually-random personality change, but I honestly can't see Tidus going "Holy crap Yuna, you look so hot I think my stats dropped by 200!"
At least we get confirmation that the Spring scene was just them making out. Finally puts to rest all those dumb theories that they had sex. no way Tidus would be gettong boners this easy if he wasn't still a virgin.
See? Some good did come out of all this terribleness. It's nice to have a positive, "the glass is half-full" outlook.

Thanks!
Oh lord. You weren't kidding. He's actually ogling her swimsuit and saying he can't concentrate because HORMONES.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - Fighteer...Should we maybe lock the FFX/X-2 pages untill the international HD release? At the very least we should watch out for major edits about "The game is RUINED by the audio drama/book!!!!" on the main FFX page. We locked the Mass Effect 3 page during that controversy, right?
An important thing to reember here is that, according to a guy who knows more about Japanese shit than I do, light novels like these are pretty common in Japan. They are more sexual or violent than their sources because why not. And in turn, these light novels tend to be completely ignored or unimportant.
Think of FFVII's Maiden Who Traveled the Planet or On A Way To A Smile. Nobody reads those and you certainly don't have to read them to watch AC or play Do C.

re last few pages: Bwuh?
"Wait, it's IV. Of course they are. They'd make IV for Dreamcast." - Enlong, on yet another FFIV remakeCorrected a few small errors in my translation, btw (this is what happens when I sleep terribly). Nothing major, just the new shoopuff is actually female and was killed thirty years ago. Also changed Chiami -> Chuami. I don't know why I keep calling her Chiami in my head.
Now, back to waiting on 2chan news...
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerSo honestly guys, regardless of any justified or unjustified trepidation about any new games or whatever in FFX, do you think this will be as good as the Compilation/FFXIII's fancy Latin name?? Maybe better, maybe worse?
And that's a question all on its own. FFVII's Compilation vs. XIII Nova Cyrstals or whatever it's called.
I'm honestly so dejected by the X news that I almost want to try out XIII's stuff like Episode Zero or XIII-2.
Is Episode Zero the prequel novel? It is quite cute, I liked it much more than the game. Fang and Vanille's chapter from this book is my favourite moment in entire Lightning Saga. It also made me ship Rygdea/Fang.
And I can't say anything about X, but as far as I'm concerned, it is already better than the whole Lightning Saga. In XIII, I didn't liked any game and barely had a couple of characters I cared about. But from what I have read, I'm sure that I'm going to at least like X. Idk about X-2. But I don't know whether Compilation is better or worse. I like VII and ACC (and only Complete), neutral to Do C and BC, and hate CC with passion.
I'm always glad to hear someone else hates CC and thinks DOC is better. Not that Do C was great, but I don't get why so many people love Crisis Core.
Isn't it obvious?
Because CC was a great game, I'd assume.
Because different people have different opinions? My order of playing the Compilation was Do C -> CC -> VII, and I can in hindsight say that VII is the best of those three by far. I personally like VII's account of Nibelheim the best, but that doesn't diminish my enjoyment of CC; although I think CC shouldn't have exaggerated Zack's death nearly as much as it did; especially if they were going for "See how tragic Zack's death was?" instead of "See how badass Zack's death was?"
Looking back at Do C, I can still enjoy it as much as I first did, but my reaction has since changed from "cool" to "lolwut" (in the best way possible).
I would imagine that there are a lot of people in the teenage demographic who, like me, played CC before VII, if they have even played VII at all. Doesn't mean they have bad taste or anything, just different taste; the nostalgia is still strong for them.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyDirge of Cerberus was honestly kind of bad compared...to the rest.
The gameplay really is kinda mediocre. I didn't feel like they meshed the Shooter and RPG mechanics well.
The graphics are pretty I'll give it that, but the evironments were eh. Like Drakengard eh.
The Soundtrack is big fall down the failure stairs compared to the rest of the compilation.
The story.
Deepground:Where did these guys come from? Bodies that need mako to survive? Mako is tainted Lifestream that the Planet can't take back. Its poisonous.
The Internet didn't exist at the time of Hojo's Death so he couldn't have uploaded his consciousness too it.
The proto materia Omega and Chaos thing is really dumb, and was never foreshawdoed.
A game about Vincent? Really? The character whose lines mainly consist of "...".
Lolicon.
This game really was not something that needed to happen.

PM box is Closed, Indefinitely Friend Code: 3368-4181-6850The only good thing I can say about Dirge is...I liked Steve Blum. And Gackt's tracks were alright, I guess, but they were really out of place.
The things that bothered me most: gameplay was boring and repetitive, environments somehow managed zero variety, and Shalua is a strong competitor for awfulest character design in the series.
Meanwhile, I found this arrange of a Fleeting Dream and it's amazing:
The Internet didn't exist at the time of Hojo's Death so he couldn't have uploaded his consciousness to it.
How do we know that? Is it because it was never mentioned in FFVII, or was this fact stated in other material?
A game about Vincent? Really? The character whose lines mainly consist of "...".
If you look at it a certain way, he's the one who deserved it the most, for the extra character development. This depends on how well it was done, obviously.
"What's out there? What's waiting for me?"Pretty sure CC implies there's plenty of internet around. Don't Sephiroth and Genesis have internet fanclubs in the game?

Hmmm, the book looks relatively cheap, so I wouldn't bet on it being very long. Too bad I have no yen. The only place I can find it on is the Japanese Amazon.
