Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

In record keeper news, Vanille will be the next new character. Her event is a survival event, like Celes's, but this time you have to finish the dungeon in order to collect your points. Since her event and Lenna's are going on at the same time, your going to have to decide which one to focus on, since they both have pretty good rewards.
Sources say thunder or water spells will be the most effective. In addition, the big reward for this event is a Thundaja spell. But unless you can clear heroic efficiently, you probably won't want to go for it.
One more thing, the boss is the fal cie anima, who not only comes along with three of his hands for backup, he counter both physical and magical attacks. It seems they just keep trying to force teams to rely on retaliate strategies.
Wherever I am is wherever I will be. ...unless I'm lost.Vanille? I was expecting Lightning.
No, it seems we're not going to get one of the characters on the games icon for a while. It's Vanille, then Locke, then who knows. Speaking of Locke, get some good water spells now. His main boss is the red dragon, and it is brutal. The reward is good though, the Phoenix summon orb.
Wherever I am is wherever I will be. ...unless I'm lost. When did the Japanese version get Lightning?
Is Red XIII available in the western versions yet? And if he is is he any good.

No he is not available.
The 7 characters that are available now are
- Cloud
- Sephiroth
- Aeris
- Tifa
Seeing how the next set of story missions will be VII, IX and XII someone else from VII might be coming soon.
So, I can no longer play Record Kepper because I got a Windows Phone. It's not really fair, really. I mean, why can that game be played on a toaster but not on my shiny new phone?
Life is so hard when it's not hard.

The event is up, and it seems they changed a few things for the better. For one, you can retreat and keep your memory shards, so no worries there. Second, they seem to have lowered the amount needed to get everything, so it should be easier to get almost everything, even if you can only run hard missions.
A word of advice to anyone who hasn't played a survival event yet: the first enemy is the most important. Make sure that they have a high multiplier, preferably greater than 1.4. This will help you out in the long run, and will get you more bang for your buck.

Is that the only music from XII that they'll ever play? I'd love to hear Esper Battle or Theme if the Empire live.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.I's Mobius different from Mevious or is it the same game under a new name?
Unrelated to that though I have a question. How do the Steam versions of XIII and its sequels compare to the console versions?
edited 28th May '15 12:28:16 AM by Chariot
Mobius is just Mevius translated better. I think like literally they realized Mevius isn't how Mobius is pronounced and spelled in English and changed it.

Yeah, that's just the quirks of Japanese transliteration cropping up. There's lots of loanwords in Japanese, but the highly syllabic nature of the language almost always changes the way it's written and said.
I sure said that!Mevius changed name to Mobius because it had the same name as a brand of cigarettes in Japan.

Edit: Oh and they revealed some tech info on Agni. Her model is made of 17 million polygons(To give an example on how many that actually is, the character models in XV are around 100000 polygons, XIII!Lightning was 8488 polygons and Nathan Drake in Uncharted 3 was around 22000 polygons.).
