As I said, their regular output damage is completely different.
Homing Arrow is weak as hell.
I think their "attack" is like their magical offense. Similar to how you have some of a certain element. Notably, White Rose Knight is the only to have more than 50 of an element. I'm guessing only 10 of it is in Fire.
Okay, when it attacks, how much damage are you taking, and what's your defense?
Quest 64 threadRed Rose Knight is dealing 26-32 damage at 130 defense.
White Rose Knight is dealing 7-9 damage (up to three attacks) at the same.
This'll take a while to figure out the damage output.
Okay, I give up. It makes no sense consistently.

Quest 64 threadHmm. I think I found something out about Healing 2.
I'm pretty sure the amount healed is proportional both to the square root of your HP and the square root of the number of water elements you have.
My calculator won't do square roots. :/
Anyway, not sure if it works... formulas, please?
Quest 64 threadWell, this is just a preliminary guess, but I think the formula is something to the effect of:
random number in [0.45,0.50] * sqrt(Max HP * # water elements)
At 50 water elements and 420 HP, I'm recovering between 62 and 74 HP.
At 25 water elements and 90 HP, I'm recovering between 21 and 24 HP.
Both of these results are consistent with the formula.
Okay. But now we gotta figure out damage.
Quest 64 threadIt'll be some base damage parameter inherent to each spell multiplied by some function of the number of spirits you have in that element...
There's a defense parameter in there, and I believe your attack stat is a function of the total number of elements you have.
As in total elements of the particular spell's element, or all of them combined?
Quest 64 threadBoth of them play a role to some extent. That particular element's role plays more into it than the total number of elements though.
Ah. Well, figuring out the first formula is more important.
Then figure out the small amount it helps comes next.
Quest 64 threadI think that the part about total elements matters more than one might think at first glance.
Also, I went back to the Beigis fight. Turns out, the first use of Drain Magic recovers 327 MP from him with 50 water elements.
Holy Fuck, 21 pages. I thought I was the only one who liked this game.
No. Not really. :P
Yeah, I always hear about how much this game sucks.
It would be nice to see a sequel of this game.
There was apparently a GBC remake.
Yeah, I just found that out as I'm reading through this whole thread right now, lol.
But it would be nice to see a REAL sequel with more spells and more enemies. A money system and an actual plot would be nice too.
This is what happens when you rush a game. What Could Have Been, indeed.
Still, it's not a horrid game. I'd give it a solid 6/10, and that's not on a Four-Point Scale either.
Speaking of What Could Have Been, I also read that this game was supposed to have a horse that brain could ride. Whoa.
There was a planned Quest 2. THQ probably said no after the poor reception.
As for the remake, Imagineer made it and went through a different company.
I personally gave Quest 64 a 3/10.
Quest 64 threadHmm... Well, maybe if they didn't cut corners so much...
So I'm reading through this thread...I didn't realize your stats were affected by how much you had in each element
They are. I need to add that Trivia page.
I got all of it written down. Flora and Leo D'nardo were supposed to be partners. Kiliac may have been too, making it 4 characters.
Flora clearly is Earth. Kiliac is Water. And Leo is Wind.
Notably, among all the helpful NPC's that might be Tamers(you fight Kiliac and Leo in the GBC Remake, as well as Lavaar), most of them are Water. Flora and Leo are the only non-Water ones, last I checked.
Quest 64 threadWhat about Colleen? Is she a party member at some point?
It still deals a goodly amount of damage per strike. But nothing on the level of Large Cutter (which has insane damage output, mind you).
