This is the second coming of Cartoon Network, a 24 hour, all 7 days a week new Classic Animation channel. I tried changing the name of the old thread for the block but then realized it might be best to just start anew.

This is huge, this is one of the biggest subversions of the Animation Age Ghetto ever, with the channel being aimed at adults and general audiences rather than children.

(Didnt put a link to avoid the "Link And Discuss threads are not allowed.") But will editr it in later if asked.

EDIT: From Cartoon Brew.

Including characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Scooby-Doo, Tom & Jerry, Josie and the Pussycats, George Jetson, Top Cat, Popeye, Freakazoid, Yogi Bear, Johnny Quest and Fred Flintstone. Warner Bros. calls Weigel one of its “long-standing and innovative licensing partners.”

The network will additionally license cartoons from other companies, and its line-up will also include Rocky and Bullwinkle, Woody Woodpecker, Casper, Inspector Gadget, Mister Magoo, Betty Boop, and Speed Racer.

[up] Actually a HUGE amount of old cartoons, the only limit being they need to be a bit old and NO NEW COMISSIONED CARTOONS.

Yeah, it'll be The Flintstones and The Jetsons, but also Scooby Doo, Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, Woody Woodpecker, Popeye, plus a lot of Fleischer Studios shorts, plus a lot of Hanna Barbera cartoons, and a lot of others. The most recent thing I saw in their proposed lineup is Xioalin Showdown, and one of the earliest was Marine Boy. I believe their trade announcement said the new channel was a partnership between Me TV and WB.

In short, this channel is going to be approximately wat Cartoon Network was originally, plus quite a bit of other stuff, too.

I do can't help but wonder if MeToons will result in stuff like Toon In With Me and Saturday Morning Cartoons being eventually phased out of MeTV proper. Would be a shame since I enjoy Toon in With Me and catching the cartoons on Saturday morning, but at least there would still be somewhere else to catch the toons easily.

On the other hand, though, I found a list of all the opening MeToons affiliates here and it looks like there are still quite a few places that won't have MeToons available right out of the gate, so I figure there will still be a place for the original animation blocks for at least a little while longer.
