We already have a whole trope dedicated to masses individually identifying themselves as the hero/culprit, so I figured why not start a game for it?

Basically, the objective is to reference the time your avatar did something bad, but invoke I Am Spartacus by saying "No, I was the one who did X. I am [avatar name]." It doesn't matter when they actually got caught or not, nor do the amount of people involved matter, but afterward, the below troper's objective is to reply to the collective claims. For instance, the avatar doing something like snipping someone's hair when they're not looking, then quickly running away would warrant:

Hypothetical Troper (Troper X): "No, I was the one who took their hair when they weren't looking I'm [avatar/character in question]".

Then, Troper Y might say something like "Let me get this straight. Is there anyone here who DOESN'T have amnesia, or the stolen hair?", and Troper Z would reply with their invocation of them identifying as their avatar as "Spartacus", but would say something like "I don't remember. All I know is, I'm the one who [did the bad thing the avatar once did]", rinse and repeat. While you don't have to directly reference another work, it's generally more fun to do so IMO, because you can lead in smoothly with a mostly unrelated reference.

I'll start:

No, I'm the one who kept the tape. I'm Frankie and Bloo.context that I'd generally exclude to make the game more fun
