That sounds like a strange combination but I guess that this could be a really fun movie.

November 15th 2024 surely?
Johnson knows how to hype things and it's directed by the guy from his Jumanji films which I liked but then it's also written by the same person as Hobbes and Shaw.
J.K.Simmons as Santa sounds interesting. Could be fun? I guess.

my bad. Fixed.
And I’m hopeful it’s decent, given that Amazon is going full theatrical.

Hey, that’ll be JK’s second time playing Santa, the first time being in one of the best animated Christmas movies of all time.

Making a thread for this, as Deadline has reported this is getting a theatrical release date of November 15, 2024: https://deadline.com/2023/12/dwayne-johnson-chris-evans-red-one-release-date-1235678552/
This is supposed to be a big four quadrant Christmas movie starring Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, Lucy Liu, Nick Kroll, and J.K. Simmons as Santa. Jake Kasdan will direct. No plot details are available though, but this is what Johnson says about the movie:
