Goosebumps 2023 TV Series

There’s gonna be a Goosebumps TV series on Disney Plus and Hulu next month, premiering about Friday the 13th. Rob Letterman (the director of the Jack Black movie) and Nicholas Stroller are going to be writing and producing.

The plot seems to focus around a ghost seeking vengeance on the children who murdered him, with various elements of the books sprinkled in. There was a trailer on Twitter, but it seems to have been taken down. The date announcement is still up though.

Interesting, I enjoyed the two movies so I'm looking forward to it.

This sounds like it will be something I will check out.

Okay, I found a trailer, but it’s not an official source. We may need to wait for Disney to put it out themselves before we make a page.

I never thought that Justin Long would be in this Goosebumps adaption.

Okay, I’m starting it now. Already it’s moodier than the movie - and this is the same director! I do appreciate the different direction they’re going.

Just finished it up, I appreciated how they took several books and adapted them into a ongoing narrative. I thought the last episode that dove into Slappy's backstory kind of took a weird swerve imo. Also, Lucas was pretty much the worst.

Was weird to see a version of Goosebumps that adapted Slappy's actual backstory as Kanduu. So credit for doing something unique.

The whole backstory with the war just gave me flashbacks to Pinhead's origin in Hellraiser.

Got news from Variety: Goosebumps has been renewed for a second season. It’ll be taking on an anthology format with a new cast and setting for season 2.

Interesting, I assume the season will go a similar route, a new, over-arching plot that ties in elements from the actual books.

That’s how I understand it.

Sad we won't see the first season continue since it ends with a cliffhanger .

I suppose it could be an anthology still and touch upon events of season 1 as well

Variety says David Schwimmer has been cast in season 2.
