Not to mention Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Exorcist, pretty much everything but Chucky.
Saw's basically the horror franchise on top for the first time since the 2000's. I just hope Saw 11 follows up well.

(2) Which is nuts. Years back when Saws 5, 6, and 7 were out I'd have figured it was suffering Seasonal Rot and Sequelitis.

Even Jigsaw and Spiral were questionable, because they weren't direct sequels. Though Spiral may eventually get a sequel, that's been talked about for years.
X seems to have caught people off guard by being surprisingly good.
