How do you use potholes in forum titles (the ones under your avatar picture)?

I know it is possible because I've seen another troper who successfully did it (Bluethorn, who has a pothole to Mega Man in their forum title), but when I attempt to do it, it shows up as [[(namespace)/(page) (pothole)]] in the actual title. The pothole I was trying to put in had considerably more letters, though. Do forum titles have a limit on how many letters a pothole can have? Is that why it's failing to work?

What's the page you were trying to link to? If it's a single word page, you'll have to use double braces. Like this:

[[WesternAnimation/{{Up}} some text]]

becomes

some text
