Most of you probably saw the Render Trailer from yesterday. Since Gameplay footage has now also been revealed, I thought I'd open up an own thread

Looks very *ubisofty*. Gunplay could use some work, but ship gameplay looks nice and I do get the typical Star Wars vibes from this.

Let's hope for the best.

Looks fun. It also seems it is gonna focus more on crime syndicates and general Underworld of the galaxy. Also that creature is adorable and most be protected at all cost.

Game actually looks good. Hoping that she never becomes a Jedi because it's more fun to know you're having to do things the hard way. Could even have a Fallen Order type moment like running from a Sith. Vader chasing you was absolutely terrifying at the end of that game, and having a few moments like that would really rank up the awesome points.

Well, I'm sold enough that the fact that it's not only Yet Another Open World but Yet Another Ubisoft Open World isn't an immediate dealbreaker, and that's saying something.

I like the character, the mascot critter is cute, gunplay looks passable, yeah, this could be good.

Looks like it's very much going for Red Dead Redemption: Star Wars Edition, at least on the ground, which I'm fine wish as Red Dead is a very good series to draw heavy inspiration from. Someone on the video notes that while the gunplay looks kind of standard, the ship sections look really well done, which I agree with.

How the game handles space is probably going to be one of the big ways in which it's going to feel different.

Though no matter what, it's going to be great to finally play another Star Wars shooter that wasn't conceived as a multiplayer game, and as such doesn't have the issue of it being overly easy to die and game over during the single player experience.

The critter's name is Nix btw, and I agree that he's cute as hell.

Has the potential to become the next Grogu.

The real question is, will we finally be able to herd nerf?

I actually had a story idea called Outlaws a while back.

Guess I'll have to change the name if I ever revisit it.

Looks promising, will reserve final judgement until we get closer to launch. One thing I liked from the gameplay is that it appears you can switch between blaster modes on the fly, so you don't always have to run around killing people. Also, I'm not going to thirst over the BX droid in the trench coat, but damn if that isn't an awesome look.

From what little we've seen from the trailers and clips (there's shots both of you fighting both the Empire and Rebels), and what we know about the Reputation system that allows you to balance relationships with the various factions, we may have finally gotten that game people have asked for where you can choose whether to be good or evil or anywhere in between.

If the main character stays a Scoundrel the entire game, it also adds a heavier flavor. You reached the top through your own skill, not that of the force. Assuming the MC ends up as the leader of all the Syndicates in the end, it also means they could be one of the most important forces for the Sequel Trilogy, as they're either helping outfit the current Rebellion, or could even have been helping the Empire's forces. Or perhaps they're part of the "real villains" mentioned in Episode 8, being one of the people profiting from the War.

So what Ubi-isms shall we expect even in Star Wars? Collectibles that only serve to pad playtime? Towers to climb and map out sections of the map? Uplay store where you buy skins from other Star Wars and Ubisoft characters? Though it would be nice imagining Eivor with a blaster fighting Rebel scum.

[up][up] From the setup, I think we might be looking less at a "the character becomes the boss of bosses" ending, and more of a noir-style ending.

The characters' big motivation is that they're after that one big score, and the end would either be them accomplishing the score and riding off with their riches away from any power that might go after them, accomplishing the score but losing everything in the process, or losing everything and ending up tragically unable to escape the mean streets of [insert planet here].

[up][up] I can imagine the usual "Hey look at these other Ubisoft games!" cosmetics. Just clothes that are references to other Ubisoft games.

I wouldn't mind that, so long as the cosmetic are designed to fit the universe and aren't say, AltaΓ―r's robes transcribed over.

Towers of some kind are pretty likely, they're kind of a staple nowadays.

Not sure how that would work across planets? Maybe as nav stations in space?

The Respawn games didn't have anything like that. Then again it wasn't an open-world thing across like one planet.

Wouldn't put it past them to have some kind of Imperial checkpoint that you have to infiltrate and slice into for map info.

There was a panel for the game with a bunch of new info at SDCC:

I especially like the savannah planet.

Also, it looks like we're going to get to see a fair amount of Kijimi. One of the criminal organizations is based there.
