Can you give examples of the misuse?
Like, Musical Spoiler lists The Day the Music Lied as any subversion.
But you're saying that it is misuse, as in it is supposed to only apply to a Negated Moment of Awesome?
For every low there is a high.^ That subversion is actually a valid example as it bait and switches a triumphant event as in Negated Moment of Awesome.
So, it has to be a triumphant event?
For every low there is a high.Guess so since there's nothing brought forward to challenge that idea.
So, where would examples go when there's no triumphant event, but the subversion of background music is still there?
For instance, sad music plays, making it seem like Bob died, but he didn't.
For every low there is a high.It really should be broadened to any subversion done to the music that is playing in the lead-up to a scene. Music can cue many other things than triumph.
I don't know if we will need a TRS thread to expand the description, but it should be an easy fix.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.I wouldn't mind.
So, the description of The Day the Music Lied seems to imply that it only applies to when the background music is subverted on a Negated Moment of Awesome. However, other people have used it for other subversions of background music. Is this misuse?
