Compared to the original, how corrupted does a Corrupted Character Copy need to be? Obviously they don't need to be completely evil, but it seems strange to see an example that goes "this character has some flaws the original didn't."

The example you mentioned is a ZCE/unclear, bc making a CCC have flaws that the original didn't have might be done to make the character copy more realistic/humane and not necessarily corrupted/twisted. The least a CCC can be is like the original was a Friend to All Children, but the copy is a Child Hater, this makes the character go from a typically heroic character to a cynical jerk for example, who's now corrupted.

A good example would mention what the flaws are so we can tell if they're corrupted or not.

What I'm asking is if there's a threshold for how corrupted a character is. Say there's an Expy where the only difference between them and the original is that they cheat on their taxes. Would that count as a Corrupted Character Copy?

To me, yes, it would count.

This post came to mind for me when I recently watched Everything Everywhere All at Once.

It makes more sense in context, but the movie includes a parody of Remy in Ratatouille called "Raccacoonie". Raccacoonie hides under the hat of a Teppanyaki restaurant employee and is the source of his skills in a timeline where the protagonist is a chef and the other employee is the Always Someone Better. Raccacoonie isn't shown as speaking like a person and is kind of grungy looking and also recommends violence when the protagonist discovers the secret.

But at the same time, Raccaccoonie isn't really evil. And the protagonist is shown as being a jerk for ruining the career of her rival. And she even ends up helping him get Raccaccoonie back from animal control.

So yeah, it's a good illustration of an expy that's edgier than the original, but I wonder if it counts as a "corrupted" copy.

Incidentally, since the Russo Brothers produced the movie, I have a theory that Raccaccoonie is partly inspired by Rocket Racoon.
