Hello, everyone, this is AllHailThrall and this is the discussion thread for Pokemon: The Omega League! Any questions, curiosities, and information can be posted here. I will also be posting information regarding the world of this game in this thread as well.

The Tuloh Region

Tuloh is a region of mysteries and adventure. To the south, forests dotted with ancient secrets and mystical Pokemon abound. To the north, the lush greenery gives way to icy mountains and craggy cliff routes. Tuloh is somewhat cold, similar in climate to the Sinnoh region far to the east.

Here is the map. The white numbers in the image are Route numbers, while the yellow numbers are where Tuloh's gyms are located.

Some places of interest are as follows:
  • Aleph Town: A small village to the southwest of the region, where the Pokemon are relatively tame. Nestled in the woodlands of southern Tuloh, this cozy little hamlet is quiet and peaceful. Professor Hawthorn has set up his laboratory in this town.
  • Betata City: This town is located where the trees clear up. In the open plains surrounding this region, many Flying-type Pokemon soar overhead, hunting for food. The Flying-type gym leader, Hawke, has set up his gym here.
  • Gamaria Town: On the edge of the deepest part of the woodlands, Gamaria Town is a bastion of nature, built in harmony with the trees, and bustling with flowers and herbs. Selene, the Grass-type gym leader, helps to maintain the greenery in Gamaria.
  • Gamaria Woods: This is the deepest, wildest part of the wider southern forests. Many different types of Pokemon make their home in these woods, but the deeper you go in, the more dangerous things get. Some even believe that incredibly powerful, mystical Pokemon make their home in the hidden depths of these woods.
  • Dalett Cave: This was a former mine dug into the hills to the north of Betata City. Rock-, Ground- and Steel-type Pokemon abound inside the rocky depths of this cave. Crews of scientists and miners have set up a lab outside the eastern exit to the cave, studying fossils that have been dug up inside the old mine.
  • Dalett City: One of the bigger port towns of Tuloh, boats come to and from this bustling trade town. A former sea captain named Bjorn holds the post of Water-type Gym leader in Dalett City.
  • Etta Island: A large, craggy island in the center of the Tuloh Sea, Etta Island is dotted with patches of shrubby grasses which are home to numerous species of Pokemon. Epsilon Industries has set up a department store and a game corner on this island to drum up tourism, while the Ground-type gym leader Arthur oversees excavation into some ancient ruins on the island.
  • Silahei Ruins: These ruins are believed to have been constructed by the ancient Tuloni, ancestors of the native peoples of Tuloh. Ancient Pokemon roam these ruins, some even thought to have been created by the ancients. Treasure is also thought to be buried here, but the depths of the ruins are off-limits to all but scientific personnel.
  • Wishing Star Cave: This maritime cave in the waters off of Zatina City is thought to be the impact site of a great meteor thousands of years ago. Psychic-type and cosmic Pokemon make their homes in the dark crystalline caverns.
  • Zatina City: This old city was once a temple dedicated to the gods by the ancient Tuloni people, as well as a mausoleum of ancient tribal leaders. The current inhabitants maintain the old buildings, and the Ghost-type gym leader Hilde keeps in touch with the spirits in the area.
  • Zatina Manor: The settlers of Tuloh from the south built a manor to rule the region from, but the angered spirits forced the place to be abandoned. The dilapidated mansion is now a home to Psychic- and Ghost-type Pokemon, as well as those who maintain the spirits.
  • Iona Town: The last bastion of the Tuloni, the people who lived all throughout Tuloh before the settlers arrived. This rustic town in the woodlands holds many who revere the old ways, including some who hold a grudge against those who defiled their culture.
  • Thawn Town: A sleepy seaside town on the northeastern peninsula, this is the access point into the northern mountains of Tuloh. To the north sits a marshy bog that leads towards the foothill town of Kapha.
  • Kapha City: This austere town sits between a swamp and the icy foothills of Mt. Ladma. The people who live in Kapha City are tough and determined, and the Fighting-type gym leader Steiner has set up a dojo in the city.
  • Mt. Ladma: The tallest mountain in the Ladma Range, the mountain chain on the northeastern peninsula. The top of the mountain is icy year-round, and a network of frozen caves passes through the mountain, the only way to the cities of the north.
  • Ladma City: A peaceful respite after the biting cold of Mt. Ladma, this town sits at the northern edge of Mt. Ladma. It is a popular tourist destination for winter sports, and the Ice-type gym leader Icelyn moonlights as a fashionable figure skater and model.
  • Muo Town: Muo Town is nestled in the eastern valleys of the mountain range. Legends tell of something the ancients buried in the caves to the north of the city, and that Muo Town was originally founded to protect it.
  • Muo Depths: The labyrinthine tunnels underneath Muo Town snake into the mountains. Not all of the tunnels have been mapped, but something powerful and dangerous is believed to live in the caves, because not all explorers who have entered have returned.
  • Epsilon HQ: The headquarters and factory of Epsilon Industries, a megacorporation based in Tuloh. They create and ship out all of their products from this northern factory building. The CEO also has his offices in this building.
  • Sakma City: Epsilon Industries had a stake in Sakma City's construction, and many industries and power plants have been built in Sakma City. Andrew, the mysterious CEO of Epsilon Industries, is also the town's Steel-type gym leader.
  • Apsi Town: The primary port of the northwestern peninsula. It is often considered a retirement community, as trainers who have ended their journeys come here to relax, swap stories, and relive their glory days.
  • Thunderclap Mountain: The tallest mountain in the northwest, Thunderclap Mountain is tipped with clouds year-round, and the plains around the mountain receive torrential rain and lightning often. Legends tell of a storm god that makes its home in the mountain's summit.
  • Xina City: On the northern edge of Thunderclap Mountain is Xina City. The Pokemon League officials are keeping a large construction project under wraps north of the mountain, but as trainers are being consulted from as far afield as Hoenn and Sinnoh, there is excited discussion abound.
  • Victory Road: The final stop before the Pokemon Championship, this cave system stands between Sakma City and the Omega League. Powerful Pokemon make their home here, and strong trainers practice before the championships in these caverns.
  • Omegana City: The home of the Omega League and the seat of the Pokemon championships of Tuloh. The Elite Four preside over the proceedings, and their mysterious Champion oversees it all.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.

so, gonna immediately put this out there - are we gonna have a Discord server for the thread? Even if it's not open yet, they're good ways to organise and have small-scale discussions about the game

I don't see why not have a Discord server. It will probably be a bit before the Discord server gets up, though. Once it's up, I'll DM invites.

Would it be allowed to use a Honedge as an actual sword in Pokemon Battles?

You piss off the Venom T-Rex. Roll initiative.

Official League-sanctioned battles in the Tuloh region forbid the trainer from participating in Pokemon battles directly. This includes Gym battles, and battles between registered trainers.

Even if this were allowed by the Pokemon League, it wouldn't be allowed by the Honedge in question. Honedge's Pokedex entry from Y states:

If anyone dares to grab its hilt, it wraps a blue cloth around that person's arm and drains that person's life energy completely.

So if your trainer were to hypothetically attempt to wield a Honedge in battle, the Honedge would attack them. Thus, no on both fronts.

Hello my fellow RPers! ^^ I’m sure many of you, like myself enjoy RPing in Pokémon: The Omega League a lot. However, inspired by WAAPT, I recently thought of an idea that could not only add to the story of the RP, but also add a bit more to the anime-feel of it. For now, let me present to you…

The Team Ouro Introduction Arc

Now, the basic idea behind this potential arc for the RP is to not only introduce an evil team for it (mainly since I’ve always felt like having one for the RP could push it to new highs and even cooler fights >:3), but also so that we can have an ongoing story along with all of the ones happening between multiple players.

Basically, Team Ouro’s main goal is to summon an ancient Pokémon known only as "The Mending Serpent" (real name Rezurboros), which is said to have existed in the ancient times of Tuloh, worshipped as a deity that could bless people and Pokémon with eternal life and special abilities.

Rezurboros (which would essentially be TOL’s Box Legendary) would be a Dragon/Steel dual-type, and it’s signature move is “Mugen Spiral”, where Rezurboros spins around it’s opponent at supersonic speed and fires off multiple laser blasts, dealing 110 base damage and has a 75% chance of making an opponent flinch after. It looks like a giant, well, Ouroboros, having teal markings and steel wings all over it’s body. It’s main body is lengthy and violet-colored. Btw, I do plan on adding an actual image of it soon since… well, it would definitely help to have a visualization of it.

The main reason that Team Ouro wants to summon Rezurboros (besides the usual evil team shenanigans) would be because in their eyes, by summoning and finding a way to control it, they could bring peace to the world since there would be no death, harm, etcetera. People would be able to live forever. Most of them genuinely believe in this goal, especially since the leader of Team Ouro (known only as the Serpent’s Hand) promised everyone that she’d bring their loved ones back.

This however, isn’t the goal.

The goal is actually to grant Team Ouro and ONLY Team Ouro eternal life, creating an unstoppable army of eternal Trainers to take over the world. Not only that, but anyone who defected after finding out Team Ouro’s true goals would be… disposed of.

That’s all I’ve got for now. I hope you all like the idea!

you will seeeeee, that all the people are wonderful~

There's interesting ideas to that, but that's kind of the GM's job. Also I think Thrall already has his own evil team plans for later in the game. Maybe he'll consider some of those ideas though.

What Firock Finion said. I have my own plot ideas and I'm not including any Fakemon into the game. I want this to be as accessible to people as possible without having to learn entirely fake Pokemon. That's also why I ultimately decided not to include fake regional forms either, which was something I was heavily considering for a long time.

This game is actually based partway on a fangame I created years earlier but never made public. As it stands, it already has a plotline, you guys just haven't gotten to it yet. I was going to introduce it relatively soon. And yes, I already have not one but two evil teams on the way.

I'm honestly not thrilled with the comparisons to WAAPT. I already felt like I was being derivative to WAAPT what with making a longform Pokemon RP on TV Tropes, and feeling like I couldn't hold up to the standard set by such a long-established game. I've been assured by multiple people that Omega League is not like WAAPT, but I can't help but feel like I'm copying their homework, as it were.

I apologize if it feels like I'm shutting down your ideas. It's not my intention. I just have a plan in place, is all. Thank you for your feedback and I'm glad you're enjoying the game.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.
