edit: Godspeed You! Black Emperor's album didn't really exceed the expectations set by The Winter Ray, but it did meet them. so there's that i guess

welcome to the Avant Garde thread, a thread dedicated to music described as...exactly that! this thread is for everyone, whether or not they want to discover the unique and diverse world of Avant-Garde Music, or if they just want to talk about it!
anyways, to get the conversation started, i just recently listened to The Winter Ray by Natural Snow Buildings, a psychedelic folk/free folk band. and uhh...it's amazing. probably the best Post-Rock album i've listened to so far, rivaled only by Spiderland (at least, of course, at the time of writing this. hopefully Godspeed You! Black Emperor can exceed my expectations)
