Elnora with that familiar-looking mask, lol.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls! You know, I kinda feel bad for Elnora. Sure, she's taking advantage of the fact that Suletta is insanely compatible with the GUND Format, especially for the sake of revenge, but it's all driven by grief of losing the rest of her family. Kinda makes me think they're making her be a Greater-Scope Tragic Villain.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...Suletta's life really did escalate quickly. From 'my only friend is my giant robot' to 'engaged' in the space of a day.
... I also for some reason got Pluto and Mercury's positions swapped in my mind. Whoops.
Avatar SourceGoddamn, that was some Jerid-tier disrespect that was heaped on Guel. Couldn't've happened to a nicer guy.
I watched the prologue and the first episode back-to-back and yeah, the tonal whiplash is certainly a bit jarring (here I was actually getting a little misty-eyed over the "Happy Birthday to You" song) but both premieres were solid and fun and it makes so much sense to learn that this was written by Ichiro Okouchi and that he wrote some Utena stuff back in the day. It's a little sad to see that Iron-Blooded Orphans is probably going to be the last Gundam TV series with purely hand-drawn mechs but that's the reality of the industry these days and the show's at least implementing the CG better than say, the Origin stuff that's been released in recent years.
My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogsI guess that's why there is a prequel episode. "Here's the dramatic backdrop of the story. Okay, now to Utena the school plot."
To be fair, the only other time there was a prequel episode of sorts was Build Divers, but that episode takes place sometime after Episode 1, I think?
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...Dunno about that, but it does seem like having the prologue episode here be episode 1 would've been a terrible introduction (tone shift in something broadcast a month before as a 0th episode vs 1->2 is easier to swallow), and not having it would lead to one of those situations where you hvae to crush in a lot of exposition real fast... or just leave things very confusing.
Avatar SourceTrue.
Something else I just realised is that damn, the walls of this colony must be shielded really well. Usually, when beam weapons are fired in colonies, it's a matter of time before a hole is blown in said colony.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...They decided to make Mobile Suit combat a common feature on this one. It's a neat tech display, honestly.
Now, how much can the systems take is another thing.
Wake me up at your own risk.Wonder if it can handle 2v2 duels, a la the Extreme VS games.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...I feel that would make the fights somewhat more muddled
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysHm, summing up the first episode in◊ three◊ screenshots?◊
Maybe if there were more obviously rules to a doubles fight?

Avatar SourceEh, it's just me speculating, considering the whole Holder deal. But I wouldn't be surprised if there were alliances being formed between the various Houses.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...Is it too early to nominate Delling Rembran for the Gendo Ikari Parent of the Year Award?
Nominate, sure, but I'm not certain he'd win. Just in this series, Elnora is also treating her daughters as objects. Then there's stuff like Shinobi no Ittoki with it's terrible mom, and arguably Yoshimatsu from LycoReco
unless he gets much worse, he’s not much of a contender yet. He’s a shitty dad yes but we have not seen enough yet.
Nothing arguable about Yoshimatsu. Not when both◊ sides◊ have said it.
So, the bar for terrible anime father of the year is rather high.
Avatar SourceIn Yoshimatsu's case, you could argue that the awful things he did was because he cared about Chisato in his own twisted way and wanted "the best" for her. I'd say a father who genuinely doesn't care about his daughter beyond using her as a political pawn would be considered worse.
Well, guess we'll see how Delling turns out as time goes on.

If we're using Gendo as a benchmark, caring in a terrible way is more of a qualifier.
Avatar SourceYoshimatsu doesn't count because he's not a dad. He gave up that right.
Meanwhile, Delling just looks like your standard "make me proud son" dad.
It's been fun.I don't think you can be so bad you stop counting, that's just another mark against you. Particularly not when you're called one within a few in-universe hours of the finale.
Avatar SourceAt least it isn't the Ragyo Kiryun Mother of the Year award :P
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I’d call Delling worse than Yoshimatsu. But they’re both awful examples of parenting, anyway.
Reminds me that I still think it’s hilarious the assassination plot on Delling got canceled because of a high school spat.
