Now that I’ve got a chance to watch more of it, I have to say, I’m actually impressed. the show actually manages to avert or subvert a lot of the Hollywood Autism tropes, with a visibly Autistic female protagonist, who loves whales and law.
And it’s actually surprisingly nuanced in how it handles entrenched ableism as well. There’s one episode, when Woo Young-woo and another lawyer are walking together to visit a client’s home, an old friend of his thinks that he must still be volunteering, because she was covering her ears, and stimming, when they were actually working a case together.
When they want her to work with an intellectually disabled autistic client, the first thing she actually does, is point out that autism is a spectrum, and just because she is also autistic doesn’t necessarily mean that she can easily connect with him.

Have you seen the episode 2 yet? I want to talked about the scene where chairman's daughter confessed to her father that she's a buddhist and is in love with her female friend. It's rare for me to see lesbians moment in a Korean show and I loved it.
“Boom! Boomboom! Boomboomboom! Bakuage Tire! Gogogo!"Yeah, I suspected that was the case.
Honestly, the show manages to deal with rather heavy and relevant issues really well, actually.

Starting a thread for this show!
Extraordinary Attorney Woo is a korean Dramedy about Korea's first openly autistic lawyer, and really has gotten a lot of praise for how it presents female autism.
I've only just started watching it today,so I can't really say too much about it yet, but from what I've seen, it looks pretty neat.
