I gave criticism to what I believed to be a mistake in your art, but after I looked around a bit, I realized that was how you drew things.

In hindsight, I should've brought this up much earlier.

As y'all might've noticed, the site's really slow today but that's because of the high traffic from early bird.

As a reminder, It's normal for the site to be slow in the days leading up and during the first few days of the event.

Once the event progresses through the month, the site should be faster.

I believe the time for Artfight has now begun!

But I'm off to bed cuz it's 2 am and the traffic is gonna be hell lmao

This is the first time I have ever heard of Art Fight, and it's surprising it's been going on for a decade or so now. I am already committed to another art challenge this year, which I had been doing since 2020, so I didn't register and I'm all curious about it.

If you ever want to do Artfight, I can answer most questions you may have :)

How does it work btw?

People are divided into two teams, the specific theming changing each year (This year, it's Vampires vs. Werewolfs). You can "Attack" (AKA drawing art of) other's characters. Depending on the elaborate-ness (explained in detail here), attacks earn points for the attacker's team. Attacks on people of the same team as you are considered "Friendly Fire" and get only 20% of the point total. When attacked, you can attack back. This is considered a "Revenge", and two people can start a revenge chain with each other. This doesn't effect points, but high revenge chains tend to get highlighted in a news post after the end of the year's AF.

I hope this didn't come out too rambly.

Goes through the month of July, if we recall correctly. Started two days ago, though we've been sitting out until the DDoS of love subsides.

If I make a lot of points there, do I win, and how are those points used?

Whatever team has the most points by the end of the fight wins. There isn't any real use for them otherwise.
