Artfight Thread

Sorry if this has been made before, Forum Search didn't show any but Forum search can be pretty unreliable.

With Artfight starting with the coming of July, I felt that it's about time to make a thread for it on TV Tropes.

For a conversation starter, I currently have 19 bookmarked characters, which mean's I have my work cut out for me when Artfight starts.

Since seeing our friend group having fun with last year's artfight I decided "I'm going to finally actually learn art so I can participate in next year's artfight".

In that time I've downloaded one drawing app, drawn one cat, and looked at a Cookie Run drawing tutorial but run away scared instead of actually creating anything.

... I'm assured that it's a really cute cat though.

I hope I get a new laptop this month after my old one broke, which my dad promised, so I can smoothly participate in Art Fight. Also plan to add more OCs up there once I get around to making their reference sheets.

Oh yeah, adding characters to our profile. I got about halfway through my detailed list and then got distracted and stopped. For months.

I suppose I can at least do that.

I'm pretty excited for this year - I'm currently working on adding some more characters to my account and such!

This'll be my 4th year on Art Fight, though my first year I really only did a few attacks since I was still figuring out how the game worked.

The team reveal is on the 23rd! I'm so hyped for the fight! (Hehe that rhymed)

I wonder what the team themes will be?

These were the themes that were on the poll, so the theme will probably be one of these. Of course, the real question is which one it will be.

I recall voting for Order Vs. Chaos on that poll. I voted for it as I thought it was quite a fascinating theme. If it's this year's theme, I'll be on Team Chaos.

I hope I'll be able to do more attacks than I did last year, ideally by double that amount.

I did 20 attacks last year, so ideally, I hope to do 40.

Heh. Now you're here, Mintleaf, I'm planning to draw one of your OCs first once ArtFight starts. Which OC? Welp, that won't be revealed until I post the attack tehehe.

One issue: when it asks for my birthday, does it mean the exact date I was born or simply the month and day?

Edit:nvm, as soon as I clicked the box it filled up to show me that it's date I was born

I have 6 pages worth of bookmarks rn, which means around 180 characters bookmarked.

Have you ever filled out a hitlist and submitted it, only to realize that your character is MUCH MORE different than what the artist usually draws?

Theme's been revealed as Vampires vs. Werewolfs!

The ArtFight Team Reveal stream has revealed this year's theme to be Vampires Vs. Werewolves!

Man, going by the ArtFight Discord, this year's theme seems to be pretty divisive lol. Some are pretty hyped while others are pretty disappointed.

While I preferred Order Vs. Chaos and Creation Vs. Destruction, I personally don't mind the theme lol.

I think it's neat and now people are making Furries Vs. Emos and The Twilight Saga jokes

The theme reveal mostly just reminds me that I have no vampire or werewolf OCs despite them both being an obvious theme to go with.

Meanwhile, I have this vampire OC who I initially planned to only work on their ref sheet and upload to ArtFight this year if the theme was Vampires Vs. Werewolves but I decided to do it regardless of the theme because they got stuck in my head.

Random thing: My way of handling characters is to make two based on each team theme for each year, and I've came up with and am working my Werewolf character first despite the fact that I'm probably going to be on team Vampire.

And ArtFight's now down from the lag and traffic.
