Akane's generation is all Zenza, and they're the ones limited in what stories they can tell. Koguma is already Futatsume, so he has more freedom in that aspect.
Is "you got me licked" a phrase that makes sense in English?
Yes. “Licked” in this instance means “beat” or “defeated.”
Thanks. Doesn't perfectly grab the pun, but it's a surprisingly close approximate. I'll take that as a good enough.
One thing that just occurred to me. Guriko's character at the moment is that he went for a training course in Osaka because he was feeling outdone by his junior. But did he not know that Akane had been learning from Shiguma for years before she was officialized?
He already knew, but since Akane hadn’t become official yet, he probably didn’t get a firsthand idea of the difference in their performances until they starred in the same show.
Chapter 95: The onscreen return of Shinta, where he goes to give Taizen a pep talk. Hell yeah.
Not seeing any milk/cigarettes Shinta.
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’I was already getting a feeling this was the case for a few weeks, but nice confirmation that one of my favorite Jojo arcs was actually a classic rakugo story.
Wait which Jojo arc are we talking about?
I like the trajectory of Akane's development here. She's got the technicals down pat, now it's time to loosen up and infuse her own personality into her rakugo.
The one with Mikitaka, when Josuke and Rohan played that dice game.
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’Huh, now that you mention it..
...Is Akane going to end the story with a house burning down?
Even the gag with the die throwing up after the first shake is the same.
Akane has transcended.
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’She's reached a level where she has the fundamentals so down pat, she has the leverage to have fun with her performance now. And everyone is getting carried along.
Seems like Akane is doing too well. She's going have to catch herself, and hopefully doesn't end up poison-pilling any of the other performances.
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’I think she's gonna catch herself, because she already had a couple trials already. The narrative is in favor of providing catharsis.
Also, what was "rakugoverse" in the raw Japanese?
That sure was the show of a zoomer rakugoka. Who’d have thought she’d incorporate influence from crossover media of all concepts.
落語ヴァース
Correct.

Thanks, I can't read kanji so I fed it into a translator. It shows "ra-ku-go va-su" so it really does say rakugoverse, it seems.
The last chapter did set it up. Wonder if the trade-off will be that the "crossover appeal" will weigh less to those unfamiliar with the other works.
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’Chapter 101.
I love dad's newfond role as Akane's secret helper in the wings.
It was also a callback to the first chapter.

‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’"Why are you crying? It was fun from start to finish."
"Exactly."
So much good dad energy in a single word, damn.
A bit confused, thought they could only use stories they were taught or was that something based mainly on rank?
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’
