I would really like if the show actually had students running around.

Not saying the cast has to balloon to massive size, but it bothers me how they are living in this large mansion that is a school and the only people there are the main crew.

Evolution did this pretty great with the mansion feeling very lived in with all the people.

It is an issue I have with 20th Century X-Men, missing out on the school being a safe haven for vulnerable children means missing out on a huge real-word-relatable heroism for Xavier.

The original cartoon makes clear that Xavier does take in children and teach them at his school, including his original X-Men team who were mid highschool age, but never more than half a dozen at a time.

The issue is that running it as a school with actual classes requires there to be staff at the school as well, and that adds some bulk to the supporting cast.

Edit: of the original X-Men I can buy Xavier, Beast and Marvel Girl as teachers, but Cyclops, Ice-Man and Angel don't quite fit that role. Of the All New X-Men Storm sure I can see as a teacher, and maybe Collosus. Gambit could possibly be the school chef but seems like a difficult role to keep him in. I absolutely love the idea of Logan eventually teaching history, that that's deep into his character arc.

Honestly if not for his memory loss, Logan would make a good history professor when it come to world wars. Heck, good future in Days of Future Past movies has him teach history.

Beast obviously teaches literature and biology, Storm geography, Logan history, Cyclops gym, Nightcrawler theatre.

Marvel Girl, Collosus and Professor X are going to have to pick up the slack to cover Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.

If Iceman hadn't burned his bridges w/ Charles and Cyclops in this continuity, he could've taught Math since he is a licensed accountant. And he was the Jean Grey School's accountant during Wolverine & The X-Men.

I had no idea Ice-Man was an accountant, I would never have guessed that.

Thinking about this, the show is too reliant on Jubilee as the kid character on the team.

Not saying she can't be the main focus, but they could have at least had her interacting with other other students.

The recent episodes shows its pretty much just her and Sunspot as the only non-adults in the entire mansion.

Yeah I was kind of expecting Magik and Cannonball to both join in addition to Sunspot, so there could be a gang of teens in the mansion. Maybe we'll get there.

Something I love about the X-Men as a franchise is that real life teens do live in a world of prejudice and X-Men is often a children's property that can speak directly to those experiences.

If they had more kids, I'd like them to mix things up a bit. Represent all the different generations of young mutants.

So we have Jubilee for the 90's / Generation X crowd.

Sunspot is a classic New Mutant.

Maybe get someone from New X-Men next? Perhaps finally give Shadowcat her day in this series?

That giant Sentinel should have circuitry in it to function, right? Strange that Magneto couldn't get to it

And before you say anything, I am aware that in the original series the Sentinels were made of plastic to counteract Magneto's magnetism, though that doesn't really change the fact they should still have electronics on them and those have magnetic fields. Unless those electronics had non-magnetic metals?

Recently in the comics Resurrection of Magneto, he fought a Sentinel who had antimagnetic shielding on its chassis, a design w/c was stolen from Tony Stark, so he had to resort to creating building-sized powerfists to try and break an opening until Storm and Blue Marvel helped by combining all 3 of their powers to create a blast powerful enough to crack the Sentinel's faceplate and expose the circuitry. Presumably the Tri-Sentinel has similar antimagentic shielding.

A review podcast I listen to jokes that the X mansion in this show is like the house in Big Brother since it's full of adults (Jubilee turned 18 and Roberto was at a nightclub so they are actually young adults rather than kids) having interpersonal drama.

While seeing it as a school could have been nice, I don't think it works with the premise of the show. It makes more sense for young mutants to be in Genosha rather than on a mansion in New York. Maybe the attack on Genosha will lead to the school being reopened.

It is amazing to see the contrast from the fight in episode 1 where it's in the desert so the X-Men can use full destructive capabilities without fear of bystanders, to now fighting the same sentinels but every powerful blow has collateral damage.

Looks like the Backported Development train continues, along with possibly finally seeing what Xavier's been up to...

Granted, officially, Iron Man, Fantastic Four' and Incredible Hulk aren't in the same universe despite a lot of us wanting to think otherwise when we were younger, but it is nice to see Ronan in this universe. Maybe Vulcan will, in some way, also mean Adam-X since he's part Shi'ar and the first arc of X-Men Legends (2021) did confirm he's also Scott's brother like originally intended.

Also, if he speaks, I hope they kept Richard Epcar as Gladiator.

[up] If it helps, versions of Iron Man, the Hulk, and the Fantastic Four have all been confirmed to exist in the X-Men TAS/Spider-Man TAS/X-Men '97 universe long ago, even accounting for how their individual shows didn't take place in the shared Spidey-X universe. Iron Man showed up in a late episode of Spider-Man when Venom and Carnage stole a machine on Dormammu's orders from Tony Stark. The Fantastic Four were among the heroes who joined Spidey on Battleworld during the Secret Wars adaptation that led up to the series finale of Spider-Man. The Hulk appeared as a Danger Room construct in the Juggernaut's first appearance on X-Men. Spidey also off-handedly mentioned both the F4 and the Hulk in the first episode of his show.

That infamous cameo of the Punisher in a videogame in X-Men under a made up false name also comes to mind.

[up][up]I'm well aware of that, but relative to the Shi'ar and the Skrulls, we had very little of the Kree appear in the earlier shows. Outside of a flashback to how the Inhumans were created in FF, all we got Kree-wise was the Supreme Intelligence appearing briefly in "The Dark Phoenix Saga" in the original series and Sentry 459 in the penultimate episode of FF

I was hoping for Storm and Forge. Really not interested in Shi'ar Imperial Family shenanigans

I think we all thought about Storm and Forge. Thought I am interested in Shi'ar and the mess that is their ruling family, but it is weird, maybe it is another Two Shorts episode like Lifedeath part 1 and they gave it only that title to preserve the suprise. Or Shi-ar could in some way be connected with their story.

My dearest sister is always of utmost priority.

I love how she obviously strugles to say that. [lol]

To be fair, the Shi'ar stuff also might be a subplot.

This episode is titled Lifedeath part 2 so the Shi'ar stuff can't be the whole episode.

[up]Exactly my point. Between that and the description, we know it is about Storm and Forge, so it's likely that the Shi'ar stuff is just a subplot.

Wouldn’t it be for the first time in this universe? I mean, there was that brief bit in the original series during the “Beyond Good and Evil” saga, where Deathbird tried, but Apocalypse left her to rot once he got Oracle and she didn’t win.
