A new Disney show is being made called Primos. It's created by Big City Greens director Natasha Kline. The show centers on Tater, an eccentric 10-year-old girl with big dreams and, unbeknownst to her, a certain “it factor” that makes her exceptional. When her 12 cousins (“primos” in Spanish) move in for the summer, they help her discover just what it is. Tater’s aspirations and larger-than-life imagination are seen via entries in her super-secret diary, which turn her deepest thoughts into grandiose animation sequences.

Look I liked the whole show, I was probably the only person who actually liked the trailer and I know the irrational haters and trolls are bad but I really dont feel saying "The people who criticized the trailer hate Mexico and are hypocritical xenophobes anyway" is good either. And Mods already said the door is closed on the drama and we should discuss what we know about the show itself instead.

At this point, your options are probably either "silently put on Disney Plus in a few years due to contracts" or "became never-to-be-released tax write-off because no advertiser is going to want to associate it".

All we have is a vague fall 2023 release date.
I wouldn't be shocked if it got released quietly as possible. I would be shocked if they outright made it a tax-write off though and never released it, though it would make for one helluva lost media hunt.

I was about to complain that the animation looked a bit stiff... but then realized this is NOT meant to be an actual series, let alone an Animation Bump Sakuga fest. I really liked the characters and its super cute and I love the Badass grandpa.

It's pretty off-topic and has no relevance beyond saying "This thing is better than Primos" when...Primos hasn't even been released yet and I doubt anybody working on this other series particularly cares?

I'm Mexican and didn't feel offended at all by the series nor by the voice actress's comments, at least on the Spanish-language animation community, the backlash mostly comes from Latin Americans from other countries who have a xenophobic view of Mexico to begin with as well as "anti-woke" activists with a hateboner towards anything that has Disney on it (a particular website had a thread saying something like "Primos: the based series that triggered the Meximonkeys") (sorry for including that infuriating slur), they're the same ones that outright had a damn orgasm at hearing that The Casagrandes had been canceled and celebrate whenever a project (particularly anime) does not get dubbed in Mexico. Those can, frankly, go to hell, they shouldn't matter and I'll wait for an actual episode to premiere to decide if it's worth it or not.
