So, Trash Theory is a YouTube channel devoted to video essays about music and other topics (but by and large it's 99% music), done in the same vein as Every Frame a Painting. Mainly it focuses on British and American music, with a whole series of videos on what the channel calls the "New British Canon" (popular and groundbreaking artists from Britain, not all of them well-known in the United States). Usually, their videos will delve into the history of a particular artist, leading into one of their biggest hits and how it came about. Other times, they'll dive into the origins of a particular genre, such as goth or heavy metal.
