In a surprising move, a new Legends Of The Hidden Temple series will be made for the CW. It will have adult players.

If they don't do a Legends of Tomorrow where the Legends compete on Legends of the Hidden Temple ... then I don't even know what synergy is anymore.

[up] Aw man, now I have to see that in action. I would even take just the actors appearing in a "celebrity edition" just for the joke.

This reboot was originally developed for Quibi, before that venture failed and the platform's content heading off to the free Roku Channel in the near future.

Though it's surprising to hear that the "C" in the CW isn't making this a Paramount+ exclusive.

I just want to see grown people failing at the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. You know they're going to have to include it after all the memes.

The Shrine is basically iconic at this point. The Splat made specific references to it whenever Legends came up in bumpers and such, the mediocre Legends of the Hidden Temple movie dedicated a whole gag sequence to the main characters being incapable of solving it, etc.

The show will premiere on October 10. The new host is Cristela Alonzo, but Dee Bradley Baker will still return to voice Olmec.

The reboot of the classic Nick game show aired yesterday! As promised, it's mostly familiar territory with just aged up contestants, a grander location and bigger prize money. It's free to watch on The CW's website.

I watch it. It's... interesting. It feels like it wasn't really updated for adult contestants: the challenges are still kind of juvenile and easy (one of the segments is literally just listening comprehension). The episode shows this pretty well, because an on the ball contestant can absolutely smoke the challenges.

Also, you know it's not a legit Legends of the Hidden Temple reboot, because the Purple Parrots weren't trash.

The reboot has been officially canceled, according to Deadline.

The cancellation is not surprising — Legends of the Hidden Temple only averaged 222K Live+Same Day viewers through its run and only grew to 298K in Live+7. It was the CW’s lowest rated scripted series this past season.

Legends of the Hidden Temple is the latest in a slew of CW series to be canceled this year, including Charmed, 4400, Naomi, Dynasty, In the Dark, Roswell, New Mexico, Batwoman and Legends of Tomorrow.

TV Line was first to report the cancellation.
