Over on the Invincible 2021 YMMV page I had made a "What an Idiot" entry regarding the the deaths of two characters based on stupid decisions they'd made. For more info, see the Invincible (2021) YMMV History page, the entry was deleted by My Little Xero near the top of said page:

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=YMMV.Invincible2021lease check the History tab of the Invincible

The entries I'd made were deleted with the following justification:

Simply doesn't fit, as we barely know anything about the character before their deaths, claiming that they're holding the Idiot Ball is simply inaccurate as we need to know their typical behavior to call it as such, in addition as we see when the Guardians fight the Mauler Twins, the tactics used the by the characters to fight Omni-Man are pretty much the same so this

I disagree with the above statements.

For one thing, a lack of knowledge of a character does not invalidate the use of What An Idiot listings. Taken directly from the What An Idiot page:

"Because most viewers have basic common sense, one would usually expect the same from characters on TV shows. Any negative deviation from such usually prompts a Face Palm and the comment "What an idiot!" or similar, hence the entry name."

The page also mentions that some characters are supposed to be idiots, but goes on to say how that does not invalidate including them in What An Idiot entries. It merely asks that you summarize such moments rather than list them all.

If it's specifically the inclusion of "The Idiot Ball" that is invalid, I can not include that specific trope if I'm able to re-upload the entry.

Regarding the group tactics, Darkwing and Red Rush do indeed fight very differently in their fight with the Mauler Twins than they do in their fight with Omni-Man. Darkwing is careful to fight at a distance, use explosives and thrown weapons, and coordinates with his teammates. He noticeably never tries to engage the Maulers in close-quarters-combat, despite the Maulers being significantly weaker than Omni-Man.

Similarly, the Red Rush only engages the Mauler Twins in close quarters after Green Ghost has immobilized them. Despite the Maulter Twins being slower than both Red Rush and Omni-Man, Rush waited until they couldn't actually move before engaging them in close quarters.

So we get to see the heroes in two fights, and in the second fight the characters use inferior tactics to the ones they displayed earlier. Worse than inferior, they make suicidally stupid decisions given they've known Omni-Man for over a decade.

So if character history is irrelevant, they had a What an Idiot moment. And if character history does matter, they still had a What an Idiot moment. At least as I see it.

The question I want to pose to everyone is whether or not my entry was valid or if it deserved to be deleted. If the latter, no worries. But if it's valid, then I'd like to get some feedback and have something I can point to as justification for the re-upload. I do NOT want to get into any kind of editing war, so before I do anything I want to make sure I'm in the right here.
