I read the manga but put it on hold to read other manga.
So far the animation looks great and I wonder how many episodes will the anime have since I recall the novels already ended.
PS: The Mc is kinda of a creep for lusting at all the females at a young age especially on his mom and maid but it's only thanks to Tomokazu Sugita voicing the main character as his inner voice that I can tolerate it.
A good friend of mine's actually translating the subs for Funi. Watching it to see his work!
....and I hate the main character with like every fiber of my soul. Apparently he gts...worse.

Depends on what you mean by worse. He kind of oscillates and reminds you that he can be the worst at random times
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysHe apparently decides he's going to groom a girl into being his perfect waifu using his otaku knowledge.
I Ts seen as a negative in universe, and he does realize its wrong later.
He never stops being a pervert, but he grows out of his creepazoid tendencies by around the teenage years, IF I recall.
Watch SymphogearIirc the novels tone down his creepiness from the original web novels so he wouldn't get the Unintentionally Unsympathetic treatment particularly in his past life he had naked pictures of young girls on his PC, one of them being his niece
Hopefully the mc does get better in the anime and matures.
Oh yuck, that spoilered bit is a legitimate dealbreaker.
Oh my god.
There's a difference between being an imperfect, flawed human person and being a fucking scumbag that should shot on sight.
That's some legitimate felony right there.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. He does die shortly after the reveal of that shenanigans so in a way you did get your wish.
Rudy's definitely...a case. He's not without his endearing sides but that tends to be wrapped around him doing shit that warrants him being beaten with a broom. And then there's the Roxy worship...
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysIt always amazes me what these authors choose to give as backstories in their OC fanfiction. Thankfully the adaptions seem to know to reign it in.
the masturbation scene was unnecessary and Rudy being a panty stealing sex pest deflated the wholesome feels of the episode by a shit ton but overall, I loved this episode. Seeing Rudy's trauma, the kind of awful person it made him turn into and ultimately his accidentally "healing" via Roxy was very sweet and the lightning horse scene made me laugh for all the wrong reasons lol. It's also interesting that Roxy's self confidence guy punctured due to losing out to her 5 year old student, but that's a plot bunny for whenever she returns to the story
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysThat poor horse, too. Good thing Roxy knew Healing, or Paul would be so heartbroken that his favorite horse got struck by lightning.
Watch SymphogearThis is one of those where in manga I read first few chapters and increasingly got turned off despite it being one of most defended by isekai fans on internet -_-; Kinda fitting I guess that "the" original web novel isekai also has lot of the grosser traits of isekai...
It's the kind of story where you can understand which grossness is plot relevant and which is "In today's episode of: the writer's barely disguised fetish!". I don't particularly mind alternate histories comfortably showing more controversial subjects that would probably be normalised in said fictional time period (slavery and the like), but there's just so much stuff that just evokes "Author-san why..."
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysApparently the author had to make a statement why he choose to display Rudeus' backstory to explain his personality instead of making him the typical NEET only. Even if it meant a drop in sales because all the typical otaku who consume these products would find the backstory too problematic for self-insertion.
I don't like that backstory either, but it really says something about the state of this genre that he needed to prepare for that reaction from otaku shut-ins.
x5 Yeah, watching this I've just left with the feeling toning down one thing with the general pervyness could improve it by so much.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobEpisode 2: Did not need to see that Roxy scene. That’s the author’s skeeviness seeping into her.
And then you have that last scene which ruins Roxy’s goodbye, seriously, there are ways of writing an awful character without undermining the sympathetic parts. It would have been easy to leave that out, and ta-da the episode becomes significantly more palatable.
Otherwise, though, while the glaring parts are REALLY glaring, it was cool to see what made pre-isekai Rudy a failure of a human being, and I do hope he takes this chance to become a better person. The animation in this episode was also on another level. Sure, there’s the obvious Saint-rank water magic scene, but I’m more of a fan of the background art in the village. I can practically smell the wheat and loam.

Pretty great episode, it's nice to see how Rudy views someone he's not perving on (for now)
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysI was appalled that Rudy even thought Sylphiette was a boy. I guess she's going to be the love interest.
And damn I'm still amazed at how luscious the animation is. How I wish more anime looked like it.
Wow Rudy was awful to Sylphiette this episode.
Not sure if it was meant to be him being socially unaware, but he really should be able to notice if someone is that uncomfortable, especially given the stuff with him guilt triping his father earlier in the episode.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobIt feels like he might have been carrying over his knowledge of fantasy fiction from his past life: Kid with really short hair, fairly feminine features, and long pointed ears. Well, the ears say this kid's an elf, and I know elves look extraordinarily beautiful (and feminine) regardless of sex so the face and physique aren't of any help. But the short boyish hair must mean that this kid's male!

Decided to make an Anime only thread, to keep Light Novel/ Web Novel spoilers away from newbies.
