Surprised it took this long for a Vtuber thread to be created. Have been a fan of Kizuna Ai since the days when she played Resident Evil 7. Still a fan of her, especially now that she has distanced herself from her previous management, and has been given more creative control in her new company.

I didn't check out other Vtubers for a long time due to the language barrier caused by lack of sub-titles, until Youtube recommended me this video.

This opened up my eyes to the existence of bilingual Vtubers like Pikamee, which then led me to look up Coco and Haachama, which then led me to check out Miko and Pekora's and clips, and there was no going back from there.

That said, I rarely have time to watch a whole stream, so I often watch the non-stream contents like the ones that Kizuna Ai and Haachama produce. For others, I mostly watch the clips and drop a like on the original source video.

i miss the days when Kizuna played games I actually wanted to watch instead of what I'm guessing are phone games that are only available in Japan. Thankfully Korone is picking up the slack.

Speaking of Pikamee, she was part of a vtuber collab playing Among Us last night. It was hilarious. Introduced me to Haneru, a cute megane that's actually a coldblooded killer. And this also lets me shill Tomari Mari cute girl that's actually a guy lol

I saw a claim that Kiara and Subaru are going to do a collab on Friday, but I don't know where that was sourced from.

Though unless one of the EN lot is doing a game I actually like (and is... not awful at it; sorry Calli but I cannot watch someone play Doom on a controller without at least familiarity playing FPS's with a controller), the only person I watch is Gura. Adorable shark is best.

Do you like chess? Kiara and Amelia played the world's most frustrating game of chess the other day that had their chat banging their heads on the wall over how often they screwed up their own chances to beat each other.

I am and have always been an idiot at spotting checkmate but even I refuse to watch a game where someone forgets you can promote pawns.

I was wondering if there was a thread for vtubers, guess it just didn't exist until now.

Started watching them around Hololive JP's 5th gen debut, but I do watch some non-holo vtubers like Pikamee and Shirayuri Lily.

Suisei's definitely my favorite vtuber, but her stream schedule is very sporadic. Pekora and Marine are up there too in terms of favorites.

So many vtubers so little time...

I had friends who watched them before but I ignored it until the EN release. And this is how I solved my time dilemma: pick one, stick with that.

@Subaru-Kiara collab: My favorite thing in all this is that this began because Subaru was indignant that Kiara didn't list her as her favorite senpai. After all, birds of a feather should flock together!

I would like to ask what date's the birb collab?

Friday. She says 20:00 but I'm not sure what timezone is being used as a base.

I'm not sure if Gura is trolling us or does just seem to not recognise words a lot. Plus karaoke but... being seemingly incapable of reading anything in a game more than three or four lines long? Confusing shark.

Honestly I thought a thread would have already existed since Kizuna Ai. Not seeing one made me think there was just not enough interest in vtubers here. Perhaps might even have been true until hololive EN?

Anyway birb collab was a blast. Even got into trending in JP and US. Was kinda hoping for Subaru to react more to Kiara since they met irl but guess that would have been too much info.

Oh wow, people expected her subscription rate to slow down after her debut like most Vtubers, instead she seems to have accelerated.

In other Hololive news, Miko has announced she's finally streaming again on Oct 21 after her long medical leave. I'm looking forward to that since I only got into Hololive after she was hospitalized, so this will be the first livestream I see of her.

Some people on reddit have noted it jumps whenever she does Minecraft especially, even more when collabing. Seems that's still a big draw in these circles

You can actually see this with Moona Hoshinova as well. Whenever she streams Minecraft on the hololive JP Server, she consistently pulls ~10k viewers compared to her usual and her subs count has increased a lot with it as well.
