was Komodo Dragon.
One Strip! One Strip! They really do love their gore confetti a bit too much.
Secret SignatureThe thing with Immortal not really being that impressive gets funnier cause now I'm thinking his status as leader of the original Guardians stems more from seniority, as in literally being older than everyone else so he probably started the group than from actual leadership ability.
I think he is jealous of being second best to Omni-Man.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."In the comics at least, Immortal's last words before Omni-Man killed him were "You. I never liked you." Nolan's response was "The feeling was mutual."
Disgusted, but not surprisedWatching the new episode. TechRadar was right about Rae surviving.

Glad to see she lived… VERY SHOCKED Kate died.
Also, the way they dropped the title card this time. Gold.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Well. Now we know Kirkman is treating this show like a real beast with the real Kate dead for real and Rae surviving by getting really really tiny.
And are the title cards foreshadowing Mark's blue and black costume or is it my imagination?
&, what’s up with y’all saying that the real Kate has died. Where’d you get that from…?
I think everyone is just kinda presuming that Kirkman has decided to swap Kate and Rae's roles more or less based on Rae surviving the fight where Ray died in the comic. Which might not be the case.
Imagine if Kate survives like in the comics. Even when the Lizard League get an episode to show off how horrifying they are without any big supers around, they still wind up being a bunch of failures.
and Also because The time spent with The Immortal in the morgue and them having a funeral. There could be a Kate O still out there. But if there is presumably no-one knows about her and she's not speaking up. Which itself would be interesting given Immortal's speech

Guess we'll find out if/when Multi-Paul makes a reappearance.
Honestly, the Multi-Paul fight will actually make more sense and probably hit a lot harder in this version if Kate really does die here.
&Thank you for the quick answers, much appreciated and helpful!

spoilery thoughts in a folder.
I like Dupli-Kate being dead or at least thought dead because a) suck it comics readers and b) the effect it's having on The Immortal whom she was clearly a stabilising element on and now is clearly cracking up and has mono-mania about his deaths at Omni-Man's hands which has interesting implications going forward. The friendship moment between him and Black Samson two surviving OG Guardians was great as well.
In fact, there were good friendship and just people being nice moments all around. Mark and Rex and Eve in various combinations. Cecil is at least trying to be nice and helpful to everyone or at least giving them the soft sell when it comes to childcare for Oliver or Eve being a Guardian.
Mark and Amber's emotional turmoil is while done and articulate in a decent scene.
And of course, some plot development on the grand scale following up on the books hint and Allen the alien, all in all a very strong episode if only a very 'middle' one but that necessary too.
Cecil wanting to raise Oliver comes across as less altruistic when you consider that he was trying to recreate the soundwave that significantly hurt Mark in Episode 2 or 3. I have to imagine he's probing for Viltrumite weaknesses, especially since Mark is less obedient lately.
Cecil is by no means altruistic I agree which is why Debra and Mark are rightly wary.
Like I said though he is at least playing soft ball about it for now.
Cecil is a complex guy in that he's both genuinely well-intentioned and completely ruthless. So his offers are probably both altruistic and bet-hedging in nature. He does care about Mark and Debbie, he does want to help Oliver grow up to be a good person, but he also feels like he has to consider the bigger picture and if the bigger picture calls for Oliver to be used against the Viltrumites than so be it. On top of it, he is prone to thinking he knows what's best for everyone; just look at how he handled Donald, not only lying to him in a horrifically violating way in the name of "protecting" him and than bluntly insisting he did nothing wrong when Donald predictably freaks out and basically dismissing Donald's anxieties with "what would you rather be dead?". Functionally, he's a superhero with a supervillain mentality to life.
Well this was interesting.
My bro who was watching with me wanted to know if Kate, Rae and Rex were really dead. I did end up telling him how things went in the comics, so Rae pulling herself out of Komodo Dragon's corpse was a true left-field moment for me. I am now legitimately wondering if Kate is dead for real, though it seems unlikely. Kate keeping her original body in reserve just in case all her clones are killed seems like too smart a move for her not to pull.
I also think it does work for ultimately proving that even at their most dangerous, the Lizard League truly is a joke. So I'm ok with it.
One Strip! One Strip! It's a shame Nolan never got much success with his sci-fi novels, they sound fun.
I especially like the titles so pulps, "The Man with the Invincible Gun" and "Hate Tribes on the Planet Wrekk".
I'm very curious about the latter.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Is it just me or did the number of books seem to vary between shots?
So I just had a thought that The Sequids barely doing anything with the possessed Robot and Eve might have been a Hail Mary to distract the team while one of them slipped inside Rus Livingston's body.
I know him still having a Sequid inside him happened in the comics, but that was the comics (and Eve and Robot never got taken over in that version).
One Strip! One Strip!I don't think they could have done much more with Rudy but it was interesting that possessed-Eve didn't use her powers. It could just be that the sequids couldn't figure out how to use them but that's also an interesting possibility
Eta: I also wonder how big a problem a single sequid on Earth is given their big think was swarm tactics

Honestly, I think the main reason they didn't kill Rae off is because they don't have rights to all the heroes from the comic, so they need to keep the big ones around for later story developments.
He's Komodo Dragon
