'Sup writers! We haven't done of these in a while and I figure why not take our minds of the pandemic with a Writing Contest among ourselves! We hammered out rules over the years and they've worked well so far:

  • 2000 - 5000 words.
  • Original work only.
  • Meet the deadline
  • Stick to the theme.

The theme rule is something we did to give our writers a common goal to play around with and it's always been one of the funner aspects in my opinion. For example, the Second Contest had the theme of "Now and Then" where the story would be from the perspective of one point in time and have a second part that takes place at a later date. The two parts dealt with the same characters, settings, story line and compare and contrast the differences between, well, now and then!

We've had ten contests in the past and they've always been fun to participate in, both as a writer and a judge depending on what you signed up for. If we have enough interest we can vote on a theme for this contest and then get the ball rolling!

So, anyone up for it?
