Is my work Genre-Busting and if so how should I deal with it?

I am writing an Epic Poem called The Gaiad and it is one that I have a lot of difficulties explaining to people and comparing it to other works. It starts with a creation story and the first third of it focuses on prehuman history of the universe. Then the second third focuses on human history, then the last third focuses on posthuman history. It occurs within a mythological context so this work may be placed in the category of fantasy, or science fiction, or even magical realism for the human segments. If my work is Genre-Busting do you have advice about how I should promote it and discuss it so that people understand what it is about?

Hmm... It sounds like your work might fall under Mythopoeia—perhaps our page on the subject might then provide some inspiration for comparisons and conveying your work to others.

I think that applies, it is more Sci-Fi influenced but it definitely best applies to it.
