Not just any leak, the arguably biggest leak in the history of modern gaming. There's entire You Tube channels and subreddits being DMCA'd over sharing this content apparently.
We must never forget that art is not a form of propaganda; it is a form of truth.I've been reading a bit more and they dumped the source code.
And it seems the person hacked them through Slack, just like they did with Uber a few days ago.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."This makes the Half-Life 2 leak look tame by comparison.
You can't kill art.And it seems the person hacked them through Slack, just like they did with Uber a few days ago.
OOF.
Supposedly the leaker tried to blackmail Rockstar with it, so presumably it's at least mostly about money. Also supposedly it's all 2+ year old playtest recordings swiped from an old company slack channel, rather than anything new recorded by the leaker.
Apparently enough of the videos contained map coordinates in the debug overlay that people are piecing together a rough map of the game world. Speaking of, is it kosher to share any of the details from the leak here on the forum? Obviously nothing on that level, but there's some interesting minor stuff to dissect gameplay-and-story-wise, particularly re: mechanics recycled from Red Dead.

The leaks also confirm that the game takes place in Vice city.
Well, since nobody has said anything against it...
- "Two protagonists" leak from a while back is confirmed. Their names are Jason and Lucia, a Bonnie & Clyde-esque trailer trash couple. Jason is a white redneck, Lucia is hispanic. It looks like the story is at least partly them going on a crime spree together to try and escape poverty. Like someone said above, it's confirmed to be Vice City.
- The limited weapons system from RDR2 is returning. The player carries a concealed pistol, a concealed melee weapon (knife, etc), and grenades in their pockets. Rifles are carried slung over the back; a rifle without a sling can't be carried on your back, forcing you to drop it to switch weapons.
- Cash pickups don't automatically go into your hammerspace money pool: they must be stuffed in a duffel bag you carry on your back, and presumably deposited somewhere before it can be spent. Perhaps there will be multiple types of bags you can carry with differing capacities?
- This one is almost pure speculation, but I think pedestrians are a lot more reactive and complex in their behavior. One clip showed the playtester crouching and hiding behind a parked car in a bad neighborhood, then spawning a thuggish pedestrian to walk past. When the pedestrian spots the player, they let out a generic sounding "hostile"/"surprised" comment, then draw a gun and start shooting - perhaps pedestrians react to suspicious behavior like carrying guns or hiding now?
- A similarly speculative note on cop behavior: I think that arrest mechanics may potentially be more complex now? Cops seem to have a dedicated "drop the weapon" category of combat barks based on the debug popups, which combined with the ability to drop weapons from the Red Dead Recycled weapon system and the potential NPC behavior changes makes me very interested to see how complex police interactions can get.

So, it seems it will expand heavily on RDR 2's mechanics.
You can't kill art.Rockstar's official statement on the leak.
Any time you aren't running, I'm getting closer.Serves'em right.
On the same hand good work brah thosw deets are interesting.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).And he turned out to be 17? Geez, how does someone that young both have the skills and (if you'll pardon my French) the cojones to hack Rockstar Games and (apparently) Uber?
Man, the biopic is gonna be something else, isn't it?
New Patch out for Definitive, code changes hint Grove Street Games may be off the remasters.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."So I just got the remasters on Switch.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!I heard the Vice City and other GTA remasters getting flack back then, but do they get less flack now?

Flack for what exactly? You gotta specify.
I suppose it's about the bad state of the Definitive Edition when it was released, and whether its flaws have been patched by now.
Seriously, my avatar comes from the embodiment of the So Bad, It's Good trope.Yeah glitches, lighting effects not working as they should, weather effects not working as they should, etc. I presume most of that has been addressed by now since I haven’t heard it talked about in awhile.
Sources tell Bloomberg VI announcement is as early as this week with trailer in December.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Thank you, Sam Houser
So, you remember when the Definitive Edition remasters of the GTA Trilogy were released two years ago, which were also supposed to have ports for iOS and Android mobile devices? I initially assumed that the mobile ports were quietly cancelled, but recently, the mobile ports of the "Definitive" Edition games were announced with a confirmed release date of December 14 this year. It also appears that the mobile ports are being handled by Netflix Games, and are gonna be playable behind a Netflix subscription. Looks like we've come full circle with mobile versions of remasters that were originally made by the same developers as the mobile versions of the original games.
From the screenshots, the mobile ports seem to look marginally better than the console and PC versions of the Definitive Edition, though the character models still remain the same. I don't know if the same graphical enhancements will apply to the console and PC versions of the Definitive Edition as well, maybe in a future patch. In all honesty, the PS2-era GTA games deserved much better than Grove Street Games' "Definitive" Edition remasters.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Hell yeah!
You can't kill art. Here's a video showing a comparison between the mobile and PC releases of the Definitive Edition remasters of GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas, along with the original games.
The mobile versions of the Definitive Edition actually look more faithful to the original games than the PC and console versions of the Definitive Edition, probably due to the mobile releases also including a "classic illumination" setting in the options. They also appear to have fixed the character models somewhat.
Part of me wonders if the mobile version's enhancements will be added in the PC and console versions eventually, but I have my doubts, considering that, barring the recent mobile release, Rockstar Games hasn't really worked on the "Definitive" Edition releases in over a year.
There's been some legitimate GTAVI leaks.
