On whether deleted developmental content can be troped

If the evidence we have is Word of God or What Could Have Been statements, it's not its own separate trope. If it's an officially released deleted scene we can assess independent of creator statements, troping it is fine.

Bumping due to an ATT of mine about Sonic the Hedgehog (2020). Is the original prerelease design tropeable? It was used in early trailers but changed for the final product.

Trailers count as released material. Be careful with main page tropes but trivia and ymmv is perfectly valid.
