My basic question is, what exactly is this trope supposed to be about? Is it about both sides of an argument having a point (and from whose perspective?), as it seems to be used most commonly? Is it about Alice (first paragraph) in-story? If so, is it about her judgment, reaction, how she makes her choice, what?
