Followed it and its kind of interesting
Also, not going to incite a Flame Bait after watching the anime.... Its still a fun anime though
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Made the trope page for Midnight Occult Civil Servants.
Episode 3:
Kohaku is such an interesting creature. Portrayed as a sadistic god at first, it was just revealed that Kohaku just wanted to have fun with Abe no Seimei incarnation. And man those poor girls.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."The episode shows some cooperation with the TMPD in concealing supernatural incidents from the public.
And some occult tie in with World War II. Kinda common, but I know that from WWII fiction involving Germany.
Episode 4:
Kohaku is as cute as ever. And the episodes mostly about the heroes investigating the Anothers at Kabukicho district while having a drinking contest with one of them so yeah...
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."That episode 4 is literally the shit with a Big Damn Heroes moment. XD
Episode 5:
Combine the premise regarding Pandora's Box and 13th floor mythology and you get this premise for an episode. Won't gonna lie that the design of Pandora is really beautiful
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Funi's doing the English dub for this now. Two episodes are out.
Finally got the character page up.
Now things heat up in the 6th episode.
Episode 6:
On this episode, we dealt with Another who kidnaps several women to create a perfect women I guess? And this case is a raison d'etre for Sakaki or something like that to find his sister who got kidnapped by said Another and a girl who was born in 1965 but after getting kidnapped, she's still young...Interesting. And man, Kohaku is such a prick in this episode (Although it makes sense as Kohaku is Chaotic Neutral Aztec God but yea...)
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Episode 7:
Ah! So the another who kidnaps several women is called Azazel and is one of the most famous demons from hell. What he's done is despicable though but I can't help but feel bad for him after seeing his backstory when the woman he loves died and when he revived her, she rejects him and just wants to be rest in peace. Also, the Cerberus is intimidating and who's the creepy demon guy that aid Azazel. But in the end, the glasses guy that I forgot his name got his sister back yay! And Azazel is still persistent as ever on trying to revive the woman he loves... This should be the final episode but nah
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Episode 8:
Kohaku and Arata's cat just wanted to have some fun in Tokyo which causes Theo and the police voiced by Koji Yusa to be annoyed since even Another is scared with Kohaku XD But Arata and co. also met with Another which is a crow one and both of the cat and the crow Another had a funny bickering with each other. And yeah, I think Kohaku is going home because he already had fun.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Episode 7 has that dang twist.
Episode 9:
While the episode is mostly covering the case about an Another who haunts children so that he can play with them... What a cruel twist ending though as the new character eliminates the Another brutally and becomes an anthitesis of Arata. It's nice to see Takahiro Sakurai's character made an appearance but yeah...
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Episode 10:
Today's case is about the Another who infested in the Olympic Stadium and it was revealed to be the insect Another considered that Kanoichi wants to prove his point about Anothers are evil. It was soon revealed that the insect babies are actually trying to make a silk for Izumo Festival and yeah, Kanoichi and his co-horts burned the egg of the Another insect and the mother has the rights to get piss off about it.
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Episode 11:
Yay! Finally the Anothers and the humans are work together to repair the damage Kanoichi has done by making several threads for Izumo Festival and Arata trying to convince the mother to forgive what the humans had done but nooooo on Kanoichi being Karma Houdini
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."There’s an OVA coming.
Final Episode:
Huh... A bit anticlimactic compared to the previous two episode but its alright I guess since its mostly solving an amnesiac Another who lost his home which is revealed to be an Ukrainan God.
Final Thoughts: It was an alright show. Kind of remind me of Phantom In The Twilight, Lidenfilms previous show. Not bad but not good either. Just serviceable. Also, Kohaku best girl :P
Wait...Really? Info pls
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Interesting
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."so i just finished the OVA for Midnight Occult Civil Servants, it brought quite a bit of development to Theo and was surprisingly dark
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic SocialistThe first OVA has the detectives who help the NCRD in a team known as Section Zero.
Reminds of those (ahem) Section Zero (IIRC that's the name) movies that came out in the 1990s... That kinda name's used for secret teams in the TMPD.
The anime version is up via Crunchyroll and due for an English version soon, but the Japanese version is out with eight volumes and counting by Yōko Tamotsu.
Basically, it's a Government Procedural-type manga/anime where bureaucrats from a secret nocturnal division of the various cities in Tokyo are tasked to police/oversee any problems with creatures known as "Anothers" living in the Shadows.
They're also allowed to use force, which is kinda hilarious and terrifying until Arata Miyako came along.
