I've sort of delved into this twice lately, one was rewriting a public domain Sherlock Holmes story to be more like the tv show, and I'm writing another based off the 2019 Doctor Who New Years' special but with my own little tweeks and additional elements. I've been falling back on the latter more frequently due to a crisis of confidence in my own ability to craft original stories, do you feel this is a healthy way of building up your confidence in your abilities again?

I'm been working on a Celebrity Deathmatch Fic on Wattpad that should've had a fitting end. It made it out like a group of YouTubers had found the "lost film" and checks it out. It's called the Final Stand of Death.

It's plot simple. Marilyn Manson learns that his days are numbered as the souls women he had dealt with on "Deathbowl 98" has returned with some iron-man like armor, really to do battle. One of them is the Holy Hand Grenade, but he doesn't know which one, despite the in-shows viewers already knowing but how it's the biggest question. All is need... oh wait, the real-life of The Chosen One in the fic just tweeted... one second...

Well, I do rely on comment on the fic in order to know what to add in next.

Hey, I'm all in favor of stuff like this. IIRC, isn't there a whole fan fic subgenre of retelling and adapting movies, shows, and books or something?

I'm writing a "novelization" of the old Resident Evil games but with Sailor Moon characters and it's primarily based on the PSX games but with elements taken from the S.D. Perry novels and the Wildstorm comics from back in the 90's
