Just looking to sample opinion and maybe start a conversation or two: How does everyone like their fanfiction written, both in terms of general prose, tone and word choice, as well as plot direction and story telling: Do you prefer something that hews very close to the original property, and reads like something that could have been an original episode or book in the franchise, or do you prefer more experimental takes that put the familiar characters in stories that wouldn’t have been possible originally, either with A Us, upping the violent and/or explicitness of the setting, or just trying out more complex stories?
For the sake of clarity, I don’t really mean anything shipping related by this, I know a lot of fanfiction is about changing canon ships or executing them differently. It’s more about how would you change the ship rather than if you would.
