CBBC will revive the series soon, it will be an adaptation of "Total Control", a soft reboot of the series by the same author, Gillian Cross.

Anyone have fond memories of the original?

The new series premiered yesterday.

It was a good start, right amount of creepiness, interesting twists with Lizzie being transformed into a vandal to set herself up...it wasn't quite clear to me why the Headmaster did that other than maybe defining a role for her based on what he saw her do to Blake at the start.

Headmaster doesn't have the same menace as the original actor, but he's OK at the role, hope he grows on me further. Looking forward to more.

Thoughts on this past Monday's episode:

They're building a mystery that extends beyond the reach of the school now

Seems the Headmaster is covering up something tragic that happened to Ethan's parents.

Plenty of food-for-thought in this episode actually, a feelgood moment for Tyler as he overcomes his fear of drowning and braves the trench in the obstacle course to get some revenge on Blake, the Headmaster's control over Ethan's Aunt means he has eyes even when he's not looking. Wonder if Ethan will be able to resist the Headmaster further to keep Lizzie secure? She was'nt so resistant before he came along, now maybe the tables are turned

Blimey, there's still seven weeks to go, and I feel like we just had an "Empire Strikes Back" third act moment with this one.

So much to unpack, from Lizzie and Ethan finding out some students they're able to convince about the Headmaster are fine with having a lack of choice so long as it gives them purpose and direction, to Lizzie in trouble for harassing the police with phone calls out of desperation, to the Headmaster actually saving Ethan , and then the bit with the droids and Lizzie's mum collapsing...that was one swell RTD era Doctor Who cliffhanger

No one can top Terrence Hardiman I feel.

Haven't caught this, but DH was the first "live action" tv I was into when I was little, from a BCC point of view. Mostly cartoons until that point.

I remember a Tennant era Dr Who episode essentially does a whole plot reference to it, with aliens running a school and using the children as computer augmentation.

I may try this as it was a cracking story and self contained. Unlike Aquilla which I felt went no where, this one had an ending to it.

I see they went and recast Dinah Hunter...though a part of me thinks she could be Rose Carter posing as Dinah
