Gotham's aesthetic is purposefully anachronistic, so maybe.
Meh, I'm cool with it. I know a lot of people on here don't like Gotham but I'm a big fan of it so it sharing a universe doesn't bother me personally even if there are some continuity issues.
This does beg the question though. Should we update the Pennyworth and Gotham pages?

Just finished the first episode after the break. So.....is this series deliberately trying to make Alfred as much as a scumbag as humanly possible? I mean seriously, the series rivals Titans by now in terms of unlikable protagonists.

He keeps pushing everybody around him away, doesn't care one bit about the war going on around him (y'know, the fascist regime trying to overrun London), only wanting to make it to America.
He also keeps robbing people and tries to justify himself. This time even trying to make bs excuses to his mother about a robbery where several people got killed. And to top it off, instead of going to Sandra's recording session, something she basically begged him to do as it was very important to her, he cheats on her with another woman.
Just a broad summary overall, it really needs to be seen to be understood.
Oh and then there's also Thomas Wayne driving a good man to suicide on behalf of his employer.

Do they want to make them completely unsympathetic? Because it's working.

Finished Season 2 now. Alfred turn himself around, and it was very fun, but it turned full-on Gotham

It's kind of funny that even in the actual panel, Alfred's actor sort of began as if he was announcing the show's ending at Season 2, only to be corrected.

Season Three is dropping in October on HBO Max. Furthermore, the show has been officially retitled: Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler.
This is kind of the last remaining fragment of that era of ridiculous superhero TV content I was engrossed in years back.
Gotham, Krypton, Pennyworth, Supergirl, Legends, Flash, izomvie, Preacher, Badlands, Arrow, Heroes, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Punisher, Agent Carter, etc.
So as much as I might disagree with the premise... I'm rather nostalgic for this show now despite not watching a single episode.
