This is most of the text for the example in question...
The title character of Disney's Moana is the daughter of the chief of her village, but the film subverts this trope in a few ways, not the least of which is having no love interest for Moana.
There's some other stuff about how she relates to Maui, but here's the thing I think is missing: Moana herself LAMPSHADES this exact trope title in the movie's dialogue!
I think that needs mentioning...
