11 Volumes are now out.
It's way awesome and it ends of a cliffhanger regarding a mole.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"Netflix series debuts April 1.
Having heard nothing but good about the manga, hoping for the best.
Turns out some of the motion capture actors are veteran toku actors.
- Shinjiro/Ultraman's motion actor is Katsuyuki Yamazaki, ironically, best known for portraying Masaki Kazamori, the human host of Ultra Seven in the Heisei Ultra Seven Original Video series
- Moroboshi/Seven's motion actor is Shinji Kasahara, best known for portraying Naoto Takizawa/Time Fire in Timeranger
- Shin Hayata and Edo's motion actor is Teruaki Ogawa, best known for portraying Sasuke/Ninja Red in Kakuranger and Hyuga/Kurokishi in Gingaman
Also, the action coordinator is Motoki Kawana, a veteran Toku suit actor, who was a crew in Kamen Riders and Sentais productions and was also in Justirisers

They're using actually Toku suit actors for the motion capture of this?
Damn. That's pretty cool.
One Strip! One Strip! They're using actually Toku suit actors for the motion capture of this?
Damn. That's pretty cool.
One Strip! One Strip! They use actors for normal movement and stuntman for action scenes. One of the stuntman is another veteran, Yugo Fuji, who has been involved with Kamen Rider since Kabuto, and was the action director for last year's Kamen Rider Amazons the Movie.

Ogawa’s also a voice actor, just to drop it in there.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"So assuming it's not some extravagant prank, I think the show is up on netflix now.
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet Unless I grew it. In that case, throw it in the trash. It is and it was pretty good. I want more.
Wait is it?
I checked today & it's not there.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."tbf, I watched it "totally legit and legally", so unno.
It was in my netflix at least, in all its clunky 3d cell shade anime animation glory
I actually thought it looked pretty good as far as 3D anime go.
High-quality models, lot of attention paid to how things should be moving... still seems to be running at 12 FPS. The contrast between the more realistic movement and the jerky framerate actually gave me a bit of a headache at times. Did not like the first episode enough to want to put up with that for another 12

Goddamn it’s always the fucking framerate.
Every time I hear a CG anime get criticized, it’s usually about the framerate.
When will they get the memo?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Word. I can't for the life of me understand why Japanese studios insist on these choppy-ass framerates for cgi shows. If it's to "mimic" 2D animation then why not just use 2D animation in the first place? One of the benefits of 3D CG is that it doesn't have to abide by as much limited animation so getting rid of that just makes it feel pointless.
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterMy guess is that they believe that with higher frame rate the animation itself would look shoddy?
Whatever is the case, its weird since show otherwise looks good for cgi show
Okay this is weird, frame rate of show is better in later episodes for most parts. Why the heck they had worst frame rates for initial episodes that is meant to make first impression?
That always happens in animation. First episode or two is working the kinks out of the animation, the voice acting, etc.
Well yeah, but I don't understand why they didn't go back to improve first episodes since currently they just drive most of the audience away.
Anyway, I decided to check the manga and... Geezus, this adaption IS really abridged ._. Like the four eyed alien got much more backstory in manga as well. They really cut short lot of stuff
And uh, after watching the show and comparing to manga
I'm honestly kinda confused. Like, in manga, Hokuto successfully killed the boss guy and plant guy was the one obliterated by limited spectrum beam. And no "dead man switch kill missile" shenanigans, the dude whose name I forgot because I'm tired just shows up to help Hokuto.
I'm just kinda confused that anime staff pulled out "Hah, I'm not stopped by death!" out of their ass ._.
Also seems like they adapted out some lizard alien guy? I should read the whole manga from beginning just to figure out who the heck that guy is since he keeps showing up in fight scenes

The missile might have been thrown in just in case they don't get a second season to reveal that Bemular is Ultraman.
Double post but you said you compared it to the manga yeah? Are you reading it somewhere where there's more than 23 chapters translated?
This is dedicated to the manga version of Ultraman, except with powered armor Ultraman suits. The mangakas mentioned that they're inspired (partly) by MCU Iron Man. 9 Volumes are out.
It's very brutal and it really plays the Anyone Can Die card.
An anime version's coming by 2019.
