Anyway, out of interest whose everyone's favorite character ?
Mines Swiftwind or Trouble Double
New theme music also a boxDid somebody say… SWIFTWIND?!
In which case, yes he is.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue. It's been a while, maybe it's time for a rewatch one of these days.
I like Glimmer a lot, she's one of the actually-nicest people early on, and I liked how her character arc played pretty much how you'd expect it to go, yet bucked all the trends on how they usually go in fiction.
And She-Ra. Is that allowed? She is the main character, after all.
Interesting question: should the main character be the most interesting character in a work? Some stories do very well without one, like Oliver Twist.
Optimism is a duty.> And She-Ra. Is that allowed? She is the main character, after all.
allowed, unless someone forces you to choose between she ra and Adora
New theme music also a boxThat is a very interesting choice indeed, since She-Ra is treated as at least somewhat distinct from Adora.
Optimism is a duty.I mean the difference is that She ra is Adora but..bigger and more magical
New theme music also a boxIt does affect her personality slightly, but not so much that it's not clearly still her. It's mostly a confidence boost and reckless tendencies.
Don't know about them, but she wouldn't be the first by any stretch. I mean Vegeta predates her by many years and despite a much later turn (some debating if that was enough) is still easily loved.
Regardless, while I can still get critical of characters getting off light, I eased up on it greatly. I mean a lot of favorites can be problematic if one focuses heavily on it and I as some put it best, it's how you behave in real life and towards real people that really count.
If nothing else: 1. You see countless people who rage about how fictional characters behave while not conducting themselves in the best light. Probably because the former is easier to them.
2. If Catra's outcome ruins She-Ra, then the show arguably wasn't much to begin with.
I love that the comparison threshold here for irredeemable villains is Koba (a mass murderer who deliberately started a war) and Lotso (a toy who punishes other toys with being played with too hard.)
some arguments are just silly and illogical
so have a silly video made of clips from classic She ra
New theme music also a boxI feel like even Filmation writers/producers were aware of their shows' goofiness, like many of those moments scream self-awareness of the show's silliness to me
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."they were running on a shoe string budget so they had to have fun with it
New theme music also a boxThe old show really does have a great sense of snark tha many of us were too young to appreciate.
The first episodes I saw were the Anchor's Aloft two parter on vhs, and Sea Hawk is very funny in that.

So should we go watch the old show, then? We could set up a thread.
Optimism is a duty.I'd continue to use this thread to be honest
New theme music also a boxWhy, wouldn't that be confusing?
Optimism is a duty.Except not really,we can amend the title to make the topic more inclusive
New theme music also a boxSpeaking of, someone on the fan wiki suggested that Falcon is still the name of Sea Hawk's dad and he has to awkwardly clear that up when referring to his ex. And I thought that was hilarious situation.

So I don’t know a whole lot about He-Man, but I’m curious—if you guys were to integrate the mythos and characters into the existing Princesses of Power universe, how would you do so?
(Let’s assume that they remain separate from each other until after the end of Princesses of Power.)
Oh God! Natural light!I don't really know anything about He-Man, or how he related to the original She-Ra.
Optimism is a duty.Adam/He-Man was Adora's twin brother, but Adora was kidnapped by Hordak and taken from Eternia to Etheria, and they don't meet until the pilot episode of the original She-Ra cartoon.
This show straight up says she's from Eternia, but in this version Light Hope was responsible for sending her to Etheria, so I'd work off of that.
Well, one of my old fan-fic ideas—one that I haven't gotten around to actually writing—is that Angella isn't entirely lost in the portal. That she finds a new source of magic and is eventually spat out on another world. There she decides to once again take up the cause of good—but abandons her old name as a thing of the past. Instead, and bearing in mind her feathery theme, she will be known merely as a foreign Sorceress...
My Games & WritingHey, that would actually be a pretty good way to tie the worlds together. It might even lead to some Parent with New Paramour drama if she remains Teela's birthmom.

I feel like we've been here before, on a different thread...
Optimism is a duty.
