I also really like Red's videos on classic literature and mythology. I used to be only interested in the Trope Talk videos, but I started binging on the others. Also, the most recent Trope Talk about romance subplots is a favorite since it captures most of my own feelings.

Don't catch you slippin' now.Is it confirmed one way or another if Red is a Troper?
Sorry if I'm being dense, but I meant more "does she actively help with trope pages, adding media, etc?"

I'd say so considering how often she references this site.
Don't catch you slippin' now.Just binged the Trope Talk series and have to agree it's really good.

Huh I knew most of the stuff she talked about in the Christmas video but I knew next to nothing about the topic of this.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseLink because I suck at embedding.
Red on some of the knights in King Arthur's court and their most famous stories, specifically Gawain And The Green Knight, Dinadan's contest with Lancelot, the Uncrowned King Galehaut, young Lancelot and the Dolorous Guard, and Percival discovering his biracial half-brother Feirefiz.

Im really surprised theres a thread only now, they have been fairly popular for quite a while already!
I have been following OSP for a while, and their contents are fantastic! The Journey To The West videos are my favourite.
I've been watching a lot of their videos lately, especially the bits about mythology. Never knew that the Gae Bolg of Cu Chulainn was supposed to be thrown with the foot.
A new video's been posted, this one talking about the Chinese myth of Hou Yi and Chang'e:
Y'know I'm really happy there's a series I can watch about mythology that isn't exclusively Greek/Norse with a minor bit of Egyptian.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseThere's a new video out, this time talking about the story of Arachne:
Sis got turned into a spider because she couldn't stop being so arrogant. Truly a sad tale.
Don't catch you slippin' now.A punishment weaved by her own hubris.
But she wasn't wrong.
If you can't handle being outed by a signature, that's on you.I was first introduced to this channel by someone linking the Amaterasu and the Cave video in the Touhou thread a while ago, and I've been a fan of it ever since.
Anyway, here's the latest one; Pope Fights!
I don't know if it was from me being Raised Catholic, but I had to pause the video after the joke from 1:10 to 1:25 because I was laughing so hard!
The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever.Another Greek myth video has been uploaded, this one talking about the stories of Narcissus:

Another episode of Classics Summarized has been released. This time, they talk about Don Quixote:
This week's entry is a Trope Talk on Brought Down to Normal.
A new Miscellaneous Myths episode has been released. This time, they're talking about the story of Tam Lin.
So she goes into the woods with the express purpose of getting laid?
This year's Halloween Special is up, and it's about H. P. Lovecraft. This one's almost a half-hour long, so consider yourself warned.
While there's something to be said for separating the art from the artist, I think there's a lot of merit in CONTEXTUALIZING the art WITH the artist. Did Lovecraft write some pretty incredible horror? Sure! Was he also a raging xenophobe? Absolutely! Are his perspectives on life connected with the stories he felt compelled to tell? Duh! If you look at Lovecraft's writing through the lens of his life, clear patterns emerge that allow us to pin down what exactly he built his horror cosmology out of. It's an invaluable analytical tool that allows us to take apart his writings by getting inside his head. So before you yell at me for Not Separating The Artist From The Art, know that it was completely intentional and I'm not sorry.
8:40 - COOL AIR
I watched the parts about the stories I've already read, but I skipped over the parts about The Colour out of Space and The Dunwich Horror because I might want to read those someday.

The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever. That ending credit song though. Perfect choice for Lovecraft.
Overly Sarcastic Productions is a You Tube duo who talk about history and narrative.
I just found out about the channel and have just watched a single video series of them. But that series is Trope Talks!, which felt way too relevant to this forum for me to not create a thread about it. It is a series about tropes, in which Red talks about a specific trope for 10 minutes or so and is very good. I particularly liked her explanation of Mary Sue (a trope notoriously difficult to explain).
